Re: Motivation & Intention

Help me here. I want to get this right. Are motivations what move us to acts of loving kindness, the "reasons" or "energizing"forces behind our actions? And our intentions...are these the inner workings of goodness which sometimes succeed in right actions but could sometimes fall short? Are "motivations" external and are "intentions"internal? You are saying something really important here, and I want to get it right. And this Librarian: is he/it involved with motivations or intentions?

A daily morning prayer I have mumbled/ uttered for probably 20 years is "God, help me know what is important and what is not"; then it got a second part about five years ago, "Help me to do no damage today". I sense a third part coming on from what you just wrote.
