"Supplementing with ordinary salt, sodium chloride, in an amount 6 -10 grams per day, increases bromide excretion by a factor of 10. However, when the individual has lead in their body, ingesting ammonium chloride instead of sodium chloride increases renal acidity, which in turn catalyzes lead excretion.

By striving to be "alkaline", when supplementing with iodine, people are in fact causing their bodies to retain stored lead. As most are aware, lead causes reduced intelligence, and compounds the effects of other heavy metal poisoning."

Not sure I understood all of this... could you explain this and where your information comes from?
