Re: Weston A. Price on Alkaline/Acid Balance

I am particularly curious about this:

"It is important to keep in mind that our bodies have a mechanism for maintaining proper acid and alkali balance in the blood and this varies through only a very narrow limit whether the total balance of food eaten is acid or alkaline."

Can someone illuminate me on that point?

When one first gets into ph, this point is always problematic.

In fact this is a common Doctor’s reason why they believe pH balancing is bogus.

Yes, the body uses every resource it can lay it hands on to maintain blood pH within what is construed as narrow limits.

Therefore you cannot really change your blood pH as they say.

What they fail to understand is, we don’t care.

The body will indeed steal from bone and organs if the intake of resources is insufficient.

And we can survive for decades in such a state before something catastrophic occurs, though we may be of ill health.

We are preventing the stealing of needed material elsewhere in the body and trying to build up what storage of resources we can.

Meeting the immediate needs and adding storage raises the overall body pH preventing what appears to be a number of old age diseases

Genetic predisposition will determine what kind and the ratio of types of foods one can eat.

One last point, in the FAQ on CZ I believe, it states a mere increase of 0.3 in blood pH increase doubles the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood.

If I had cancer, I’d be shooting for the high end of that narrow range!
