The ligand is very important. Calcium what? Carbonate? Citrate? Also, know that calcium is an antagonist to magnesium. It is generally suggested that a person take a 2:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium. On the whole, calcium is thought to have a calming effect. It is often recommended for insomnia.
