what about spacing children 4 years or more

hello, I am 26 and I have a daughter who is turning 3 next week.
I have tried to conceive again after giving birth but for some reason ( possibly including cleansing, and dietary changes) I have not been able to conceive yet. Now things are finally starting to change ( at least this is how I feel like ), and I would like to get pregnant again.
I wanted to know whether children that are spaced 4 years or more have any chance to play together and be true friends ( rather than "parents") to each other as they grow up . I am afraid of having to wait too long.Everyone seems to make children every 2 years and I feel I am getting late.
