My local Weston Price Chapter has a link of farms in VA that offer crop share/cow share programs. Basically, you pay a fee (which is expensive considering the amount you have to give at once) and every week raw dairy (if you do the cow share) and/or veggies, fruits, & herbs are delivered. Which means I would be eating a lot of apples in the Fall. Usually, its for 22 weeks (but I think the dairy & maybe meat are year around) from May to October. Considering what I spend at Whole Foods, I think I might just save up and do it next year. That said, the local farms in the area do attend the farmer's markets. When I run out of my current stock of food, I will go food shopping there. Also, some of the farms allow you to place an order for meat online.
