Crop Share/Cow Share Programs w/ local farms

My local Weston Price Chapter has a link of farms in VA that offer crop share/cow share programs. Basically, you pay a fee (which is expensive considering the amount you have to give at once) and every week raw dairy (if you do the cow share) and/or veggies, fruits, & herbs are delivered. Which means I would be eating a lot of apples in the Fall. Usually, its for 22 weeks (but I think the dairy & maybe meat are year around) from May to October. Considering what I spend at Whole Foods, I think I might just save up and do it next year. That said, the local farms in the area do attend the farmer's markets. When I run out of my current stock of food, I will go food shopping there. Also, some of the farms allow you to place an order for meat online.

Attached is the link for the Alexandria Chapter which provides links to local Northern VA farms:

I assume the other chapters provide similar information. In any event, its something to look into if you are interested. I think its neat to support the farms in the area.
