You can get parasites from other people, animal, food. Depending on the type of parasite. Roundworms you can get very easily they are highly contagiuos and they are extreemly hard to get rid of. You can get them from your pets by pettin them ( the eggs are on the fur from when they clean themselves, it's in their saliva), you can even get them through kissing people. The cycle of nematodes (such as roundowrms) burrow in the small intestine, the eggs then go to your lungs through the blood streem , reswalloed and goes to large intestine. Basically it's a never ending cycle and the eggs are in your saliva that's how it's spread from person to person. That's why I was always told as a kid nevr to drink out of other peoples cups or eat other peoples food. Same priniple.if you have parasites it's recommended to treat the whole family. doctors don't know a lot about parasites and the testing for stool samples only have about less then 25 % chance of detecting it. but don't get discouraged. do your research through government health websites like the center for idease control, there's a lot of good info out there. And if you decide to go to your doctor make sure ( you do your homework) and they will at least try to get you started on meds before the sample gets tested. If you know what you have tell the doctor and get treated, but remeber there's a high probability you might have to get treated again ( depending on type) just hang in there and take care of yourself don't get embarressed.
