Acidic w/ oil for a better flush? Comments?

definition - "BILE: An alkaline fluid produced by the liver. It has two functions: to help break down fats in food so that it can be absorbed and to neutralize the acidity of the stomach contents when they reach the duodenum."

Since bile breaks down fats AND neutralizes acids, this may explain why grapefruit/lemon juices are used succcessfully with Liver Flushing. The acidic juice should help purge bile along with the olive oil - sort of a 2 dose hit to cover all bases of triggering the gallbladder/liver purging reflex.

But... I have heard many times that the juice is just for taste, and serves no function other than to make it easier to swallow. If so then why the focus on acidic juices? Why not mix the oil with something better tasting?

Has anyone tried a flush with only acidic juice, w/o oil?
How about using vinegar instead of grapefruit or lemon juice?
