Forgot a few weeks ago to mention another thing that helps keep the BP in line: an herbal tea infusion of hibiscus flowers(spelled in Spanish "Jamaica") available at any Mexican market or at some health food stores. The Mexican recipe is 8 cups of water, 2 cups hibiscus flowers; boil water, add hibiscus to hot water, turn off stove, and steep overnight. Add 1 cup of sugar. You can make your own variations. If you are avoiding sugar, mix with apple juice to drink it or just lower the sugar. A little lime is good sometimes, so is cinnamon, whatever you are craving is probably what you need. I find even that ratio too strong, and dilute it a bit. The color is a rich, vibrant red, so probably loaded with anti-oxidents. It also stains.
The Sugar will settle out if prepared that way, so you might one to boil the Sugar into the water til dissolved, then add the hibiscus. I'm shy of too much sugar, so fiddle with that part later. It's especially good on hot days.
