The website for Champex www.directfood.net/champex goes into detail about the recommended doses for each condition: foul breath, body odours, fecal odours. At the bottom it says doses will be different for each person and for some the dose will need to be doubled. There is a lot of information on the site and I recommend anyone interested in trying Odor Cleanse or Champex read it to understand who the product was designed for (not us) and we need a higher dose--some will need higher than me. Another information sheet: http://www.mishima.fi/PDF/deodorizers/champex1.pdf
When I first started taking it I was taking 3 capsules after each meal (3x75mg) and about 5 days later started a volunteer job. People didn't seem notice my odour from afar but up close would make sniffing noises. So I upped the dose each day. The websites that sell these products specify that it takes at least 2 weeks to take effect for body odour, and so does the above Champex site. I began getting the benefits after about 3 weeks, but I know it got better each day because I couldn't smell the odour in my clothes when I took them off anymore, and my shoes smelled less and less toxic.
I think now it was working by removing ammonia from the blood, thereby reducing a huge margin of the foul smell, but took awhile to saturate everything--the intestines where existing toxins were present for a long time, then the current toxins from that days' food digestion, then travelling to the blood to remove ammonia, indoles, and mercaptan and various methyl amines--all gases that smell and are supposed to be removed by the liver.
But only a liver that isn't overworked and drowning in toxins to begin with. Now, maybe my liver is relieved of a lot of stress and can eliminate some of the stuff on its own, while the mushroon extract takes the burden off of it. Does this make sense? I think this is why it takes several weeks to work and some people might give up after only a few days or one week, thinking it's another "cure" that let them down. I've been through that with cleanses and probiotics. I would think "It's finally over." Then the sniffing and rude faces began again. I think cleanses are necessary and they help reduce some odour, but the body is not capable of keeping up with the detoxification process, and each morsel of food adds more toxic gases which will build up again. The mushroom extract is the missing link in the detox pathway for us.
If you do a google search of agaricus bisporus research you will note that there is a lot of research going on for its ability to remove heavy metals from soil. It also contains a substance that can be converted to a bio-fuel (the U.S. department of Engergy is sequencing its genome. Mushrooms are an amazing gift from God. He is to be praised for his perfect design of the planet and its contents. We know about the healing properties of the other guys: shaitake, maitake, cordyceps--but who would have suspected the little white button mushroom of being such a powerhouse?
