Re: MH Opinion on Salt Water Flush +India and Salty writing.
Hi and haribol to everyone.
Srila Prabhupada (great saint) once said the most important spice in the kitchen is salt.
Ghandi also helped influence the restoreation of India's ancient treadition of collecting their own salt again. A critical step after the influence of the British ways.
In India they have black salt which is very sulfery in smell and taste, very nice with some simple preps.
On special fasting days known as Ekadasi (happens every 2 weeks in correspondence with the lunar cycle) Follwing the one day fast gives enormous benefit physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The whole material science that surrounds Ekadasi is fascinating. There is a relation to us being mostly water and air, the moon has high tide and ow tide effects. The water in our bodies is affected in certain ways on those particular days. Some foods are acceptable (fruits). Grains are avoided because they have a tendacy to to absorb more water during this time period and can minimize some circulation. Also there is something on the activity of parasites during certain lunar times. Most this can be found in ayurvedic medicine.
I find it very facinating that the only request ,Saint Chaitanya MahaPrabhu, made of his mother was to follow a fast on Ekadasi day once every 2 weeks.
purebhakti.com has a calendar in the upper right corner. When I find a simple version I can post it later.
How did I get to the topic of Ekadasi?? Oh yea, on Ekadasi in India normal salt is not used, instead their is a naturally mined salt that is used, really good stuff to. It's likda like the realsalt.com supply
