Your girl should have a full physical exam that includes a full blood panel with thyroid testing, and an urinalysis. It's best to do these diagnostics to be sure there are no other underlying problems.
Has she been spayed? If not, hormone fluctuations can often contribute to 'dribbling'.
The vet most likely reccomended Proin, which is a safe and effective product for canine incontinence when properly used.
