The reason the coffee is boiled rather than brewed is to extract the essential oils. Flavor isn't a factor, as when using a drip maker.

Start with about a quart and a half of decent water, bring to a boil, carefully stir in between a quarter cup to a third cup of grounds and simmer for about five minutes. You should see the grounds rise and fall at the surface.

Allow to cool, which will also settle out the grounds. Then pour into another container (I use a two quart plastic measuring/mixing bowl) until you reach the grounds. Heat to about 102F and put in enema bag.

Retain 15 or minutes. Massage the abdomen to spread the solution through the lower colon and to ease any cramping.
