Don't worry - your circadian rythym is off - happens to lots of people.
When it gets dark outside, the darkness signals to your body its time to go to sleep, and your body naturally releases its sleep hormones. We mess that cycle up leaving the lights on all night.
If the light trick doesn't work on its own, you could try a little bit of melatonin as well - its a natural sleep aid. Although at your age I would only use a very small dose (.5-1 mg).
