Recently, I started using coconut oil on my skin and I think it's helped improve my odor. I still stink somewhat, especially if I'm in a hot place, but I think it has really helped my odor decrease. I still get reactions, but not like before. Although my social anxiety, due to having this condition, puts my nerves into overdrive. I need to get my anxiety under control... because it exacerbates the problem. Before finding the coconut oil, everything that I put on my skin only added to my bad smell because the scent is coming from all over my body....and it smelled just as terrible if I didn't put anything on it.
When I used coconut oil alone, I realized that it decreased the odor by a lot. It does have antibacterial properties, so that could be why. My groin area still had a really bad scent. I've used it on my groin and I think it helped, but I haven't been going out much to see people's reactions because I just sold my car and I'm still shopping around for a new one.
I'm still trying it out and see how good it works, although I am worried about throwing off the balance of my vaginal flora by using something that have antibacterial properties. I guess I'll have to take Pro-B vaginal probiotics, if I spot anything unusual.
I bought it on Amazon. It's a big tub (29 fl. oz) of organic extra virgin coconut oil by the brand Nutiva. I'm not selling or promoting anything. I'm just telling what has helped me. It's been a long time since I've had some relief from this odor, so I'm glad to know I've found something that's working somehow. I've always thought the problem was in my gut (I had H. Pylori), but dietary changes, etc. has never had any effect on me, so who knows.
I recently got health insurance, so I do plan to go to a few specialists to see if I can find out anything new...although I know that doctors suck. I'm still a work in progress, so if anything else helps me, I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.Life with this odor has been a nightmare....be strong everybody and hope all of you have someone supportive that you can talk to.
