Kyel, The enema instructions are:after taking the enema do the 5 minutes on each side but RETAIN all the 1.5 tablespoon enema.Holding it lets the vitamin E work until it is removed by your regular bowel movement.Your short holding time would not be effective.
Also lubricate the enema insert with vegetable oil or petroleum jelly.sheldon
