If your husband had those symptoms on the diet he almost certainly has candida. If you are going to go with a diet that has carbs, whole grains and such, you may want to attack this with meds too, which is what my program calls for. High dose vitamin C will help with those joint pains. It does in my case. Ascorbic Acid at 1-4 thousand mg a day. I’m not sure if it grabs the toxins or free radicals from candida that get into the joints or what.   [End]

Yes, you need a script. I went to a doctor on the ACAM (Academy of Alternative Medicine, check google) list in my area who is treating this. Otherwise, no one was willing to prescribe it. If you are in MA area, Northampton Center for Wellness. They got me 8 vials of Nystatin Powder, I think 8 or 10 oz each. CVS had to special order and the cost to insurance was $280. I think this is enough to get me through the entire treatment, like 3 months worth. I have been put on a new diet and supplements for a Candida Overgrowth. VItamin C has always inflamed my prostate and the new program wants me to take high dosages. I have seen contradictory evidence too. Seems like both might work, but differently. One person on here is positive his candida was killed by high does ascorbic acid(vitamin C). Which I would imagine creates a really acid condition. Also, lemon and other citrus is allowed on the diet even though the have sugar. Hmmmmm....   [End]

Hi, I picked up some Magnesium Oxide powder after reading about it here. It actually gave my bowel movement this morning after taking what must have been 1400mg. It did not fizz in the glass when I added water, which I thought it would. I’m looking for the oxigenating effects on my colon, although I’m positive this is why I had a bm after constipation for weeks. Does it need to be activated? I know this is considered a symptom of candida, I’ve seen it many times in literature. Ever since I got this, when I look at the sky, I see dots floating around. It looks like if you stir up dust in a beam of light. Also, I see them when I close my eyes lately. Is this toxins floating around? Mine causes severe joint pain that I would equate with arthritus or fibromyagia. Sometimes walking is very painful, and my joints throb just sitting in bed. I’m at the same place that you are. I am petrified of starting the diet, because if I don’t eat sugar, I can’t get out of bed. Thats weird because I recently quit drinking red wine and my candida has become much, much worse. I wonder if it was controlling it. I was drinking a lot, and had to stop. Slowly but surely, I became more exhausted, and my joint pain returned and became severe. This was not a withdrawal thing, its been 2.5 months and my candida is worse than it has been in years. That’s interesting about the citrus allergy. Citrus of any kind makes me feel awful right away. I can feel my thoat closing, which I often feel if my symtoms are bad. My lymph nodes become painful to the touch immediately. Followed by severe joint pain and fatigue for 3 days. I am avoiding all citrus. I wonder if its die off or a sensitivity. Hey, my thoughts-antifungal meds are different for everyone, one works while another doesn’t. Have you thought about a liver cleanse? It is a simple process, that clears all of the bad gunk out of your liver. There are different methods, but the heart of the cleanse involves drinking olive oil and lemon juice mixed in a glass. Supposedly it works extremely well and you spew out liver stones like crazy. If your pathway is slow, it makes sense that there is a blockage. I am going to try one soon. The other site medrug.com lets you get a consultation with a doctor online who will then prescribe the meds, but I do not see Diflucan or Nystatin on that web site. I had a colonic the other day and felt better then I have in a long time. Joint pain and fatigue got much better for a few days, but my colon is all backed up again and I’m starting to get tired again. I am not passing much. I started psyllium and Primal Defense probiotics today. I’m hoping it will help. I am new here, but I know that Nystatin works mainly or only in the colon, and that Diflucan works systemically. So if you think candida is infecting various parts of the body, you might want Diflucan. However, it is different for everyone, if one doesn’t work, the other might work.
