I followed his method for 9 months nearly two years ago and now the EC has fully spread to areas of my lips which were completely healthy tissue. I agree. People who downplay EC have no clue what its like living with this condition. But you are wrong, this is not a facial deformity. Its a skin problem. You need to remember that people all over the world, throughout the ages, have had all types of conditions that reduce the quality of life. I will post pictures once I pass the 6 months post surgery date. Thats what the surgeon told me I will see the final results. Even though I don’t feel any pain or discomfort post 2months. I do feel a slight tingling sensation from time to time. Also, my mouth can’t stretch as it use to. I think the stitches inside are still there. One of the nurses said that the lips are one of the areas in people that take the longest to heal. 98% of their customers get lip augmentation - I was 2% who got the reduction.   [End]

I realise that my original post perhaps may mislead people. Let me make this as clear as possible. I STILL HAVE EC. Exactly as I did before. The only difference is, 1) I have less ec (because parts of my tissue were removed). 2) I have smaller lips. I was born with naturally large lips and I feel that my slightly smaller lips suit my face more aesthetically. Although I could have benefited from a few mm more removed. I’ve had lip reduction surgery 7 weeks ago. I’m still in the process of healing. I’m due for a post op check-up in 3 months. I think you should go for surgery as a last resort for curing ec. I’ve had my condition just over 16 yrs plus I had naturally larger lips which means I could risk undergoing reduction without looking weird as someone with no lips. Remember surgery is permenant. You have to make sure it’s right for you. For me, I have zero regrets in getting the surgery done.   [End]

So I have Candida Its oral thrush they tell me. I wonder how long I’ve had this yeast overgrowth for…? I’m guessing a long time. I only became more proactive about this once I started to spit lots of mucus and experience frog in throat-like symptoms. I was prescribed Nystatin. I dont think leaving it alone with nothing is the best soloution. Doing the leave it alone method with a bit of moisturizer from time to time might make life easier. Yes I agree with you. A lot of the journal seem to mention stress as the underlying cause for the condition whereas stress is the outcome of having EC. Although it may be arguable that stress can prevent healing. “I have learnt to manage my symptoms the best I can. I think its best when seeking help with doctors to either leave your symptoms alone so they can see with their own eyes the severity of the condition or to take a few photos in of your lips when they are bad and flaring so they can also get a good visual of the condition. First of all, don’t worry. I’ve had this condition since I was 12 I’m now 28 and still not found a cure – I’m still living with it. It’s a challenge everyday but I manage. And yes the place has threads going back 13yrs and it can get very confusing about the solutions. 1) Never come across a thread suggesting blocked nose causing EC. 2) It’s basically a cycle that cannot be stopped. I dont think you have EC. But it just looks like the keritin layer of the skin has hardended. Continue using the steroid ointment. If it makes things worse immediately stop. Get an allergy test done, see if any things are triggering it.   [End]

Hi Monsterlip I always had a feeling that simply going natural would be the best possible way. A dermatologist who was older than the usual ones I came across (maybe in his 60s) was honest and said brutally “we have no cure for EC – Im sorry” He also said that he HAS seen patients been cured by themselves naturally. So maybe this method could be the way to go! I would say that 22days is still early for any significant changes. The scar can heal over time because it can be left alone. The lips however not so simple, you see because we need our lips for communicating & eating we are constantly disturbing the healing. One thing I know for sure is, the bigger your lips are the worse affected you are by EC. In terms of genetics, I’m not quite so sure. My cousin did develop it, even now she still has the EC symptoms - although not as bad as I have it. I have given her my best advice in trying to deal with it the best way possible. I honestly believe anyone can get EC. If your lips are damaged due to excessive lip-licking/biting then eventually EC is around the corner.   [End]
