From my past experience, mixing the drink at the beginning of the day and including the cayenne does cause it to get stronger with sitting. So on days I had to go out, I’d mix my drink and bring along a shaker jar of cayenne to sprinkle into each cupful I’d drink. Also, I noticed that when I’d mixed the drink into a stainless steel Thermos it made it taste disgustingly like whiskey after a few hours. May I ask why you have not been doing the B&P shakes? It is my understanding that bentonite soaks up the toxins and then it gets ushered out with the aid of the psyllium. I started this cleanse with the intent that I wanted to lose 7 lbs or do it for 7 days, whichever comes first. This is the third time I’ve done the cleanse within a 9 month time frame. A friend of mine told me she puts the whole lemon through her electric juicer, just scrubs the skin first, cuts off the pointy ends, and shoves ’em through in big slabs. I tried that today, but I cut off the yellow skin, about 2mm thick or so, leaving the inner white skin intact. Made nice frothy juice and tasted delicious in my lemon drink. I’ve always just juiced the lemons by cutting them in half and using a little plastic juicer in a soup bowl and doing it by hand. I really wouldn’t recommend breaking your cleanse when you’re at day 5. It says somewhere in the book by Mr. Burroughs that it is dangerous to suddenly start eating solid foods. You have to break the fast gently, preferably with freshly juiced oranges for the first day, and then ease into soft veggies in broth and such the next day. Yesterday, day 2, I went to a surprise birthday party for a friend. Thanks for asking, stccb. I had 15 extra pounds from my 4th pregnancy that would not go away. The day I weaned that little guy, when he was 17 months, was the day I started my first cleanse. After that one for 9 days I lost about 9 lbs. Then a month later I did the cleanse again for 7 days and lost the rest of the weight. I’ve worked out while on the cleanse but I found that it made me feel too worn out, like I didn’t have enough steam to really enjoy my workout. (I use a stair-stepper and some hand-held weights). My speculation is that doing a workout while on the cleanse isn’t the best idea because you don’t have a whole lot of extra calories to burn. As for the steam room, I don’t know. I wonder if anyone else has any answers on here? Personally, I’d just take it carefully. I’d go in the steam room cautiously, getting out if I started to feel light-headed or anything. I’ve had headaches during the early days of MC. In fact, yesterday I had one, but just for a few hours, and it went away on its own. I can’t say for sure what is wrong in your case, I can only speak from my own experience. I’ve heard that it’s normal to have headaches or other pains as part of the ”toxic dumping” or ”healing crisis” or something. Please post a message on here telling us when the headache passes. Hi. I’m doing this cleanse for my 3.5th time (three point fifth time, not thirty-fifth). I did it twice in the first quarter of this year, then did a mini-cleanse for a day or two in early summer. The first cleanse I went 9 days. The next one, which was a month later, I could only handle 7 days and I was starving like crazy the whole time and couldn’t go a step further without breaking the fast. I am trying to figure out what is causing my hair problems. You see, for the past 3 years or so, there has been a chunk in the back of my hair that doesn’t seem to grow. It’s like a 6” wide swath that is about an inch or two shorter than the rest of my hair, which is close to halfway-down my back. Hi Joanne, Yes, it has gotten less exciting with each time I’ve done the cleanse, but still I anticipate doing it. I enjoy the weight loss that comes with it. I’m mad at myself for having somehow gained 6 lbs this summer (probably eating too much of my kids’ baking) and want to lose it so my jeans aren’t so tight. (Cheaper than buying 3 new pairs of jeans every time I gain 5-6 lbs.) Sounds like 3 for $1 is about normal, then, judging by what everyone on here has posted. Thanks to everyone for the answers! I’m wondering what the price of lemons is in other areas besides here in central BC, Canada. Right now, for example, the local Safeway (which is usually more expensive than the other large grocery stores) has them on sale, 3 for a dollar. I would fill up a large fruit-juice jug with water (about half a gallon) and keep it by the sink and pour a few glasses of it to drink every few hours or whenever I saw it. I’d drink all of that and then re-fill it again part way through the day. I did this cleanse twice during the winter, but now lemons are on sale and I found #3 maple syrup at the health food store for $16/liter (that’s cheap here), and it’s mighty tempting to get going on a cleanse again now. I don’t have much appetite in the hot weather anyway. I’m wondering how others are faring while doing the cleanse in hot weather. Has anyone done one in cold weather and also in hot weather, to have a comparison as to how they went? I imagine it’d be easier to make oneself drink lots of water in hot weather, huh? I did ’cid a bunch of times myself, and smoked a lot of weed (and who WOULDN’T inhale, do we really believe those who say they didn’t?), around the same era as you, and I’m 36 now, and did this cleanse and never had any hallucinations. Let us know if anything weird happens to you. I can’t imagine it being anything radical, really. You’re taking in enough healthy stuff to replenish your body with what it needs as the junk goes out. I’m wondering if I read you correctly or not. Did you say your tongue WAS pink after 18 days, or it WAS NOT? Mine never did go all the way pink, but the longest I did a cleanse was for 9 days a few months ago in March or so. I did two cleanses within a month of each other -- the first for 7 days, then the 9-day one. The 2nd one was extremely hard for me, so I don’t imagine it was the greatest idea to do them so close together. Oh, do the limes EVER make a difference! I used them after a few days of the cleanse, after having used only lemons, and they sure perked things up taste-wise.
