I live near Atlanta and have a swamp behind the house. I also have an inground pool. The water table is very high because of the swamp. The level of the swamp water is probably about 3 feet below the level where my sprinkler pump is located. When the pool was just a hole in the ground, the deep end was nearly full of water, during a 3 yr drought. A pipe had to be run outside the pool, to the bottom of the hole to pump this water out until the liner was in and the pool was filled (and if the liner is ever replaced).
