I went to an oral pathologist after getting no help from an oral surgeon. The oral pathologist diagnosed me with exfoliative cheilitis told me that it should resolve on its own. I would like to respond to your message. I too suffer from exfoliative cheilitis which was caused by my picking my lips. I tried to let my lips heal on their own by not picking but to no avail. I then turned to taking a biopsy which ended up being another painful piece of my experience. Since it was on my lips, I would get questions every day about what happenend to me and since I was in highschool hear rumors that I had herpes or even cancer. I suggest that if you have tried antibotics as I had, and creams for different fungi that you do not have a biopsy. It will take away the privacy we ...
