Don’t get overly concerned about accuracy, meters are not accurate, they only get you in the ball park so to speak, or they show you that ’something’ is in the water besides water. I think you may find that if the light fails to light up it indicates nil or minimal electrical conductance in the water due to the water being too pure. The less impurities in the water acting as an electrolyte the less conductance hence the longer it will take for that light to light up indicating electrical conductivity in the water has increased enough for things to work. It would be more accurate to state EIS/CS requires a *minimum* of 99.9% purity in silver for the purpose of manufacturing EIS/CS for consumption. I don’t know about those flat strips but wire is procurable directly from Precious Metal Merchants, and I believe any length so it’s not like you need to buy a whole roll of wire. 99.9 or 99.99%, but the latter is more expensive of course. The 99.9 is normally around 99.98% so for the extra cost in assay of .2% for 99.99 I get the former, 99.98 is near enough for me. Yes that’s right, don’t use sandpaper, you’re removing silver from the electrode as well as that crud, I only use paper towel to clean the electrodes, and Yes again, smooth any sharp or square edges for the reasons stated above. Electrolysis takes the line of least resistance, you want the entire surface to be incorporated in the process. I have frozen a clear sample quantity of home produced EIS, and then thawed it...Below are the results... 13.5 uS going into the freezer. If one were to run a pH check on their solutions they would find the pH is extremely high on the alkaline side *immediately* after the product is manufactured. Over stabilising time frame that pH level drops to around base 7 odd. I believe this is why EIS/CS is so effective at times. No, going on your definition of ’capped’ it means the particles are coated so they don’t fall out of solution and end up on the bottom of the storage vessel. Particles are neutral charged so there is no repelling of like charged particles in solution, therefore something must keep them suspended in solution, thus they need to be ’surrounded’ or encapsulated by something to keep them in suspension. It’s the ratio of silver ions to silver colloids that differentiates a colloidal solution from a predominantly ionic solution. You have got plenty of particles going by that photo, and if there is no ’fallout’ or settlement, then you’ve got a good product. If you’re brewing 1000ml you will need to incorporate some form of *constant* stirring method throughout the entire brewing process. My advice would be to NOT brew such large quantity without constant stirring. FWIW My method for treating family member for shingles several years ago...I dug out my old battery unit, and using rain water for speed of production, made a batch in the morning and consumed, then made another in the afternoon and consumed that. No. mg/l refers to *TOTAL* amount of silver content by weight in one litre of water. Colour does not signify particle size alone, it can also indicate density or number of particles in solution. So, just because a solution develops colour doesn’t necessarily mean the particles are of an undesirable size. You’ve already been told it may potentially increase the particle size. TDS measures the dissolved silver, not the particle silver.
