Basically, though, the BED recommends eating non-starchy vegetables for 80% of each meal, along with 20% either starchy vegetables/one of four grains (quinoa, millet, buckwheat, amaranth), OR protein (poultry, fish). Cultured vegetables make up part of the 80%, and she encourages drinking young coconut kefir, both of which replenish the good bacteria in the digestive system.
