    Hello!

This is actually my first blog, and I am planning on documenting my "wedding makeover". I am getting married in October 2008 and I REALLY want to lose the weight I gained just after I started dating my fiance.

I was about 115-120 lbs when I was 21 (I am 26, 5'4"). My Fiance is 6'5" and can eat anything and everything. We would cook dinner together and split it right down the middle, I gained a ton of weight (approx 50 lbs).

I have never dieted in the past, but now that I am planning my wedding the thought of seeing my 170+lbs in photos for the rest of my life is too horrible to imagine. I NEED to lose at least 30 lbs. I don't think I can expect to go back to my thin 115lb figure, but maybe...

So I have tried a few things so far:
    1. lean cuisine, etc
    2. gym workouts at least 4 days a week
    3. coconut oil pills

I am doing all three of those things right now, and have seen no change at all except maybe that I feel better about myself for exercising. I do have at least 2 BMs a day, which is good.

I have been seeing a dermatologist, who has perscribed me anti-biotics, they sort of work.. I didn't have acne until about 2 years ago, since then it has been pretty bad. I have dark scars (not big) on my face from picking the spots.

I have always been an emotional eater, and also tend to eat when I watch tv (which I admit is a lot). Since I have been going to the gym I haven't been snacking as much, but then again I am hardly at home.

My fears for doing a juice fast:
    1. feeling sick, unable to get my work done (I am an office manager, and am very busy all day).
    2. having to go to the bathroom a lot when at work (a lot of woman work in my building, so the bathroom is usually "busy"). I have purchased Oxypowder, and get embarrassed to go #2 in public restrooms.
    3. I am afraid that I won't be able to keep the fast, I have very poor will power.

If anyone has ideas for me, or words of wisdom for an over eater that is attempting a juice fast, please comment!

I look forward to journaling my fast (goal is 30 day fast). My parents are visiting this weekend for our engagement party, so I plan to start the fast after they leave. I am planning on doing just salad and fruit for about one week before the fast, then onto the real weight loss! I plan to continue to go to the gym daily (or at least 5 days per week). I have a friend here who I go to the gym with so that helps, and she will provide support for me while I am on the fast too.

I really look forward to this new phase of my life!!!

OMG, I forgot that we are going to Jamaica for our honeymoon, so I need to be ready for a bathing suit too!

      Hi!
You sent me an email, which I was so happy to receive. I am so excited that you are joining the fasting journey! This will be the answer to all that you are waiting for. So as you may remember, i've done a 30 day fast last year, then a 10 day fast and am now on day 22 of my 40 day fast. So I have gathered a tremoundous amount of information and material on fasting. Here are a few things that I have learnt:

      1) Don't advertise your fast. You will only find that people around you are not supportive and most will blame fasting. You don't need that type of negative influence, so you're better seeking support here and on other similar sites (www.freedomyou.com, go to bulletin board)
2)Read as much as you can about fasting and its benefit (books, forums, websites, mp3.etc) That will keep you motivated and will remind you of the incredible physical and mental advantages of fasting.
      3) Avoid being around food and food gatherings. I never gave up my fast during food gatherings, but it was incredibly difficult and it often made me feel deprived.
      4) Avoid TV, too many food commercials. Again, try to fill your time reading stuff about fasting.
      5) Try to get a few minutes of sun everyday, along with a nap. You will feel recharged! I used to take my lunch break either in my car or anywhere where there was sun and would nap for a few minutes.

      Now, about your worries:
      1) Feeling sick: don't worry, when juice fasting, you will feel incredibly energized. Just make sure you always have some fruit juice with you. If you get a little tired, drinking a bit of juice will immediately re-energize you.

2)I take Oxypowder at night and only go to the bathroom in the morning. After that, no more. Don't worry, when juice fasting, you are not consuming any fiber, so the Oxypowder will only release the stuff that is trapped in your colon. That will be done progressively, so you won't be going to the bathroom non-stop!

      3) You feel like you won't be able to keep the fast, but YOU WILL. It is just something you have to do and take it one day at a time. I usually aim for 3 days (which are the hardest by the way) and then my next goal is day 5. Then, after day 5, you just get used to the routine.

Hope this help, and don't hesitate to ask any questions.
      Happy fasting!

      4) Acne medicine. Stop it. For one, it is not good to take any medication while fasting. Your body can cure pretty much anything on its own. I used to have pretty bad acne too. I was on Acutane. Fasting is THE best remidee for acne. Stop everything, drink a lot of carrot juice and watch your skin transform!

Hope this help, and don't hesitate to ask any questions.
      Happy fasting!

      Hi,

First of all congrats! Today is my 6th day and let me tell you its starting to get tough. I would love to have some encouragement from someone going through this. This is my first fast and honestly it is mostly because of weight loss. The thing thats the hardest for me is fitting the juice into my schedule. I also work in an office and i am busy all day long. I have not told too many people about this because you don't always get encouragement from people. In fact alot of people that are very close to me tried to talk me out of it. This definatly takes strong will power and i am going to take it 3 days at a time. That way i don't get over whelmed. I did have alot of the same concerns as you. But I think you will be suprised to find that your BM's will not be the same. I know I was. I am still really early in the fast and I am looking for tips as well. When you get into it please give me feed back and maybe that will keep each other going.

      Happy Juicing!

emofree.com download the book and begin tapping for your happiness and success. Sounds like you have some core issues to deal with. I know that I stopped trying to lose weight close to my wedding. I decided that all I could do is my best and too bad I didn't do it sooner so I could have avoided a small eczema patch on my face on my wedding day!!! The longest I've ever fasted was eight days and it didn't do well for me. I do better eating mostly raw and working out hardcore. Everyone is different. I love being married and I'm better off married than single.
