  • Bible bashing.... The who, the why, and the when...   by  kerminator     19 y     4,057       11 Messages Shown       Blog: Southern Etiquette or life in Dixie

This is dedicated to our sister, Ready2Rapture; and all that she stands for...

In the words of Robert E Lee; to his students @ Washington & Lee College, after the war between the states: " Gentlemen, {It was an all male college} I do not care if you do not learn anything here, except how to be a Christan and a Gentleman!  For this will serve you better than all the education in the world....  "

I stick by this principle, and will take up the torch, to help educate people on this and other blogs...  If we can not be civil in our dealings with each other, then we are the most wretched and lost of all mankind....   It is only through respect and love for our fellow man that we can ever hope to emulate the teaching of Jesus the Christ... All else is a mere tinkling of brass, on the world stage...

Thank you dear sister R2R;  and we hope you will continue to be the voice of reason and truth....   More on the Gospel principles, and feel free to make any comments, statements, or any thing else,  ... Remember the truth shall set you free and Free agency is the gift of GOD...  Learn to use wisely....

A word to the wise, is well spent, but to the fool it is a waste of time...

Some folks are tolerant till they meet someone who doesn't agree with them.

Rest assured it wasn't you, my #1 blog fan!

I've left the Zone before, only to be talked into returning. But the thing that keeps driving me away is "friendly fire". I expect hate and bashing and hypocrisy from unbelievers, but when the believers start on me it makes me wonder if I'm in the wrong place. And the blogs themselves weren't really the problem, it's what I keep seeing in even the "support" forums. Those who cry the loudest about confrontational people (like me I must assume) quickly turn confrontational themselves if anyone dares to try and keep the wolves outside where they belong. It's the same thing the lost do: we only tolerate people who agree with us.

It's also quite sickening to watch Christians get their posts deleted for any and every reason while the lost are permitted to continue their personal attacks and off-topic rants. For all practical purposes, they could combine the poorly-named "Christianity Debate" forum and the "Religion Debate" forum into one called "Bash Christianity" forum, because you never see anyone else bashed there. But as I said, the "straw that broke the camel's back" was the impression I was getting that I was not welcome in the Christianity Support forum.

I will say a public Thank You to Wrenn, who has been very good about guarding my blogs from the handfull of bashers who just couldn't tolerate my right to free speech.

Thanks also to any and all who even so much as left me alone and didn't follow me around to vote no on all my posts. I think I had close to a thousand all totaled (happily most before the voting feature). I'll miss the few of you who were not hostile, believe me. Not that I expect better treatment out in the wwworld, but there comes a time when we belivers are told to "shake the dust from our feet" and move on.

WHATS GOING ON? I know I missed something, but where are you going R2R? Did they really get rid of your blog? This does not sound reasonable AT ALL! I really enjoyed your blog. :(

        • Hi there FLC...   by  Ready2Rapture     19 y     1,939
Nobody kicked me out, I just decided it's time to leave the Zone. Everywhere I go most people tell me what a divisive, negative, impatient, graceless, merciless etc. person I am (those are just the Christian comments!), so off to Blogger I went. There's been a few here like you who never said any of that to me, and I'm truly grateful to know I might have actually helped someone. But this just isn't the place to do it anymore.

I've had a web at http://www.theology.fether.net for a couple years now, and at the bottom left are the links to the new blogs. I'll be slowly adding articles from here as I get time. Thanks again just for letting me know my time here wasn't a complete waste after all ;-)

This is the way Jesus was treated by so many, though he healed them, they bruised him. You may be healing more then you think, and though some will spit in your face for it the same people will bless you when they turn to Jesus the Christ. It takes something different for everybody, but the words or the righteous will not perish if they are the words of God. They will acomplish his will and return unto him plenty, but the old seeds must die before they can live, they just don't relize it yet. Keep watering! You are blessed when you are rebuked for righteuosness sake!

Thanks again very much FLC, you don't know how much it means to me to get even the smallest crumb of encouragement. It's so easy to get weighed down.

It was just such a great disappointment to learn that so many in the support forum want nothing to do with me. This sends a bad signal to any unbelievers, who are surely laughing with glee at the hostility (and I'm sure some Christ-hater from the Zone must have hacked the new board, given the fact that it is brand new and Ev had announced she'd be away for the weekend). But even in that new board I have at least two antangonists, and were it not for the fact that a good e-friend of mine joined I would not post there either.

As I've said, I expect hate from unbelievers, but when the sheep keep biting my ankles it might mean I'm in the wrong pen. Certainly a matter of prayer. But there is some Biblical precedent for God using such things to get his people to scatter seed in more than one place. So that's why I decided to keep the blogs here but not make new entries. I get confused enough as it is just maintaining one set at a time.

I, too, am sad to learn of these things, I have been out of the loop for the past few months. I really appreciated your posts and how you stand strong for the truth, as clearly stated in the Bible. I wish you well in your future e-dwelling places.

Gee, I'll have to start growing more fingers so I can still say I can count my total number of e-friends on one hand ;-)

I pretty much only come to the zone occasionally, and just happened to see there was a recent post to this blog (somebody has to keep an eye on kerminator you know). I also check the conspiracy forum now and then because I've taken an interest in the chemtrails/artificial weather thing. I have some good photos I may post on my personal web sometime, along with some animated GIFs I got from MyCast the other day which showed a large section of trails across the north western part of the country.

Partly due to kerminator's encouragement, I'm also working on writing a book called "How NOT to teach Sunday School", and I will try to begin posting a series of "newbie Christian" lessons on my new blog. But right now I've got at least 3 websites needing software changes over the next week so I don't know when I'll get back to that.

How NOT to teach Sunday School sounds VERY interesting. I remember that I learned so much in children's s.s., then in youth s.s. the format changed from education to that generic Bible study method of "let's read a few verses and then sit around and talk about what they mean, or what we think they mean" and I gotta say, it's a good thing I was studying the Bible elsewhere! Getting some real content!

Well, the "how not to" book is written but it's pretty short, so I'll call it a pamphlet. I'm starting a series now on a kind of "first year" of lessons for ages mid-teen and up, which will be long enough for a book but it'll take a while. Since Kermie's got a web now and will soon have a store, I'll probably put the docs there and just ask for donations. If there's much interest, I can use whatever donations to make printed copies.
