  • Day 5, Moving Forward, Results of Measurements   by  countrygirl_roni     18 y     2,577       2 Messages Shown       Blog: My Journey to Health (With Fasting and Raw Food)
Another day behind me, and I'm glad to say that I won't be reporting my weight today, as I weighed three times yesterday. But it is my day to retake measurements. So, here goes...

Well, maybe later. Seems the kids have found my fabric tape measure, and didn't put it back. Woke them up to find it, and neither have touched it. I guess it grew legs and ran away...

I'm sure it will turn up soon, but I'm really disappointed because it's my first weekly measurements since I took the starting ones. I want to see the results.

I just made my Smooth Move tea and I'm letting it steep a bit. My lemonade is ready, and I feel strong for the day ahead. Today is my strength training day, so I'll be using the Bow-Flex. My shoulders are still really sore, so I'll go easy on the upper body and concentrate mainly on my stomach, butt and thighs.

Another sore spot is my calf. I tore my calf muscle about 5 years ago, and I woke up with charley horse after charley horse last night. Hopefully some scar tissue is being cleaned up....

I'm also not using the correct amount of cayenne pepper (too hot), so I'm going to increase it today. I know I need the nutrients and benefits it adds to the cleanse.

HEY, we found the tape measure (sorry kids) right where it belongs. I looked through the whole drawer three times, but it had slid into an empty ink cartridge box! My daughter found it for me while I was checking her homework.

So, here are the official results of my weekly measurements...

    Waist ............... - 1/2"
    Above Bust .......... - 1/2"
    Below Bust .......... - 1/4"
    Full Bust ........... + 1"
    Neck ................ - 1/4"
    Hips/Belly .......... no change (BOO!!!!)
    Thighs .............. - 1/4" each
    Knees ............... - 1" each
    Calves .............. - 1/4" each
    Ankles .............. - 3/8" R and - 1/4" L
    Upper Arms .......... - 1/8" each
Lower Arms .......... - 1/2" R and no change left
    Wrists .............. - 1/8" each

Not too bad, but the area I was hoping to lose the most was my lower belly/butt. I feel flatter, but the tape says "NO!". And I was surprised to see an inch gain in my bust. Maybe both areas are being affected by my period, and I'll see better results next week?? I can definitely see the areas that I was holding water in (knees and ankles and one wrist), and my knees were bothering me around the time I took my first measurements. Maybe that's why - I was carrying a lot of fluid. So, 10 1/2 lbs down, and about 5" lost (sounds high because I'm using a LOT of measurements), and I'm pleased with my results. Can't wait to see what next week shows!

After kicking the year off with some juice fasting, and working out for A MONTH, I finally let them weigh / measure me at the gym. It was awful. I was totally deceiving myself for a long time, thinking I wasn't really gaining that much weight...

I saw a picture of myself when I first moved in with my fiance (4 years ago) and I was downright skinny! Well, not exactly, but I was in good enough shape. Now after years of his killer cooking, I feel like a tub a lub. Just in time for the wedding. (Not meant as a blame-shift - I was the one who ate the stuff!)

Back to you - measurements and working out are your friends. I'm hoping that my second weigh in next week will give me some good scale news, but more importantly, the measurements.

Great idea about the crockpot, by the way. That's awesome. I can't imagine fasting while cooking at the same time. That's seriously one of the most admirable things I've ever heard, and it's inspiring. I just ran away from eating when I was fasting, and got almost angry at other people for eating.

You're truly working hard. Reward yourself with a bath or some flowers or something, you deserve it.
