The Foundation was located at 261 Cazenovia Street in East Aurora, NY. It was founded in 1922 by Dr. John Hanavan and was first known as the Suncure Sanatorium. The Sun-Diet Foundation was formed in 1927 by Oliver F. Cabana, Jr., a Buffalo businessman (banker and political leader).

The Foundation’s 18 acres of land included a golf course, small lake, woods, and tennis courts. Sixty employees took care of the 1,000 guests that stayed each year at the 80 room clinic. The foundation closed in 1941 and its buildings made into apartments.

Dr William Howard Hay (1866-1940) was appointed director of the Sun-Diet Health Foundation in 1927.

Dr. RL Alsaker was the Health Director.
