I ended up getting to bed later, as I fell asleep in my lounge chair, curled up with a blanket while watching a little bit of TV ( a old Looney Toons VRC tape) I woke up when it was done and it ejected from the machine. I groggily, I got up, turned the TV off and the light and went into bed. My right arm was still hurting quite a bit, that I crawled in to be as gently as I could. I didn't move around a lot, because of my hurt arm to so. I woke up early around 8:30 a.m. and got out of bed to get a 8 ounce glass of blueberry pomegranate juice. I got back into bed to rest a bit more as it was hard to sleep with such a sore arm. I felt stupid that I shoveled my deck, walkway and drive way after the last time, from beating up ice, I aggravated a tendon or pulled a muscle in my hand/wrist/arm. Plus I was stupid enough to stay outside for another hour or so, to play in the snow. LOL I must not over extend myself in such ways when it comes to my right wrist/arm, as it was already sore.
I sleep until around 11:15, which was surprising, but Mekong's presences probably helps a bit with the relaxations. I was a bit hungry, but didn't eat anything like beans or veggies for lunch. I had a bit of three olive hummus with some multi grain tortilla chips. I tried it with the carrot chips, but it didn't have the “crunch” that I really was looking for, so I ended up eating both the carrot chips and the multi grain tortilla chips. I bought the chips the other day when I was at Walmart. They were Tostititos, as they were the only ones that I could find that were within the healthy range that I wanted. I found them to be acceptable in my diet, as long as I ate them in moderation with healthy items. At first, I learned one major thing: Never eat from the bag! I have read that you SHOULD never do this, but I forgot, as this is the first time I have bought anything like a chip. I did scoop out my hummus into a little monkey bowl. I found that using a melon baller, is ideal for getting an ounce or two, which is a serving size.
After a while, my right arm was so worn out and hurting with just eating, that I just sat there watching TV with my arm straight and not moving.
My whole day was very slow and lazy, other then during one load of laundry (work clothes, and sheets and pillow cases), as by late afternoon, my arm was feeling like it was broken. I could tell my the slight swelling in my forearm, that my tendon was inflamed and aggravated. I finally went out to my car and got my wrist guard, which would prevent me from moving my wrist and further aggravating the tendons. I wore it for the rest of the night which was an improvement. I was at least able to fix up my dinner and get it ready for the oven. It was very hard cutting up the broccoli pieces, and the fresh carrot. I finished using the stuffer mushrooms, where was not easy dicing up the stems and cutting up the spinach leaves. I loved that I got some grape tomatoes (as they were on sale for 2 for $5.00) and slit them a bit and put a couple with in the mushrooms in the dish. At least when it was done and over with, all I had to do is turn the oven on and stick it in.
I talked to my Dad around 3:00 p.m. for around an hour. It was a very good conversation, and he told me to watch out this week for my birthday card in my P.O. Box as he was going to mail it out tomorrow. I told him that I would. After I got off the phone with my father, I went out to my car and got my wrist guard for my right hand to see if it would help stop the movement of particular muscles and tendons in my arm. I haven't been in this much pain in a while. My arm was very sore, and I thought it looked a bit swollen, but I wasn't certain.
It was about 5:00 p.m. when I stuck my dinner in the over to cook. My arm was killing me and it felt like I had a broken arm. I went and took along shower, put some more Icy Hot on my arm, and decided to take some pain reliever to help with the inflammation, which is why if hurt so much. I haven't taken anything like pain reliever since my accidental gall bladder attack just after the New Year. I knew that I need to get to the inflammation of the tendon or what ever it was to go down. I didn't have any ginger tea or fresh ginger in the house to help with that. So I made myself a bit of chamomile tea, which also helps with inflammation, so I sipped on it while watching a movie. I wanted to start my knitted legwarmers, but I knew I would be a fool if I started to start them, so I just found the pattern that I really want to work with and left it at that. It took me a while to eat my dinner, and I found myself not as hungry as I thought I was, and I didn't finish it. It probably was the pain as well as I felt a bit moody and achy, which I realized then I was coming close to the end of my monthly cycle, so “Oh JOY” to that! Pain and grumpiness. What a lovely combination! LOL
I did work out some written down goals for the year, for February and March. I am still working on them, as I didn't feel much like writing too many of them due to my aching arm. I hope to finish it up sometime this week, once my arm heals a bit and I feel better about it.
Most of the night, I just sat there feeling miserable, as my arm hurt so badly and I was starting to worry if I did some really damage to it. After a while, it started to feel better, as the pain medication was probably kicking in, and the icy hot was probably helping as well. I wondered how well I was going to sleep, as it hurt to move it a whole lot. I decided that I would sleep with my wrist guard on so prevent my wrist/arm from moving so much in the night, as I love to sleep with my right hand under my pillow. Well, I am sure since I won't be doing that, sleeping wont be as comfortable as it usually is. Did I learn my lesson? Yes. I need not to drive my body, as I was some young teenager. I guess I am very stubborn like that. I hate to think that I am not capable to doing things I have always been able to do, especially with my arms and hands. Like my father said, we all have limitations we have to accept as we get older. I must really take that to heart and remember that, unless I want to be in pain like I am now.
Mekong was a wonderful comfort to me, as she sat on my lap. I pet her with my left hand and she seemed to know that I wasn't very happy about something. She gave me that little lovely “Meeeooow” she does when she wants to get my attention. I wondered what Phil was probably doing, as I sat there. I hadn't heard from him since very early Friday morning. He probably was watching the Superbowl and much happier then he was a couple days ago. My mind went to thinking maybe he was calling that woman that he told me about. I really had to fight with myself and tell myself “It isn't my problem anymore” so that I wouldn't dwell on it. Deep in my heart, I was missing him and missed hearing from him in the funny, joking way that he has when he is not stressed out and happy. The “old” Phil before he got so stressed out and moved on.
Here I was alone with cats. I guess that should be my Indian name “Woman alone with cats”. I know it sounds funny at the moment, but I guess it really just sums up how I feel right now. Alone and forgotten. I just hope that the next couple days gets better, as I hate feeling so alone and lonely especially so close to my birthday. I really hate celebrating it or even acknowledging it, as it just reminds me that I am just one more year older, without out a husband (let alone a boyfriend now) , without children and I am alone with cats.
Pathetic. . .
