I wanted to update this, as my sprouts are doing VERY well !
I think I overcrowded my mung beans , they get pretty large.
The broccoli took off like lightning!!
the red clover and alfalfa are finally getting up muster.
the broccoli is about almost 3 " high now looks like they will be putting out *true* leaves soon/ above the starter leaves
I figure by monday I will eat them *smile*

the daikon radish seeds smelled so darn good ( semi sweet mustard)
I could have eaten just the seed lol ! but I will be patient.
I started this batch up on about monday to soak , laid them out on trays on tuesday and this is now sat,evening... hmm quick food 8)

I am sitting here drinking a wonderful smoothie which btw I have great raw and vegan recipes in my Qi (Chi) Pig blog..
yes even raw chocolate too and raw puddings (no soy, no dairy)
all =the real deal 8)

from : SUN ORGANIC FARMS

I got 1 lb each of alfalfa seed, broccoli seed, red clover seed,
daikon radish seed, black in shell sunflower seed, and mung bean seeds.
the mung beans need to soak 8 hours first, as do the sunflowers and daikon radish seed . btw the daikon radish seed smell so darn good,
I could almost eat them as they are!

btw Owens tips point out that mung beans
are very good at removing heavy metals from our bodies,
and I also read in a blog that cilantro does this too!
and broccoli is good against cancer.
make sure all seeds are for sprouting only !

you can buy the black sprouting trays
for 9.00 $ (code # FRESH05)from : TRIBESTLIFE

Then get a cheap plastic 14" round base circle (about 2" deep )
for 2 $ from home depot.
Put the black sprouting tray (smooth side up )
inside the round base.
The tiny seeds do not need to be soaked first
tray is divided in 4 sections,
so you can grow 4 diffent beans at same time.
Wet the black tray and put in circle again.
(glossy side up ).
Pour clean pure water in bottom pan
til it touches bottom of black tray.
Carry tray to sunny spot and put your seed in each section.
Mist the seeds and do so about 5-6 times a day.
Make sure you mist them before going to sleep ,
and as soon as you wake up.
Replace water in shallow pan with fresh pure water every day.
Let your sprouts grow for 6-7 days until small green plants.
Bigger seeds, like mung, sunflower, radish, buckwheat lettuce,
wheatgrass and barley grass need to soak 7-8 hours first.

(ALL THE INFO ABOVE IS FROM OWEN MURPHYS TIP SHEET)

Got a wonderful tip today from Owen.
He suggested I plant a whole tray with only broccoli.
If I plant 1/4 of tray , start seeds day one,...
then a few days later plant another 1/4 tray ...etc,
then I will end up always having a good green fresh crop
of broccoli greens on hand.
Broccoli, being such a cancer fighting plant,
is a very good crop to maintain as a daily sprout additive.

Wheatgrass and barley seed can be purchased here:

http://www.wheatgrasskits.com/seed.htm

(the broccoli seed is much better priced at sunorganic)
