AND my daughter says it's lighter than my dark hair, too!
This is too good to be true. My hair used to be so much blonder. Then as I aged it got darker. I remember reading that darkening hair can be (or IS) part of the symptoms of hypothyroidism, which I've been working on overcoming with the Iodine supplementation.
Well, I really didn't have many grey to begin with until I started losing hair this summer. As a lot of you know, I had hair analysis and iridology done in late August with the results read to me on October 3rd or 4th.
Well, since that time I've been doing a "general cleanse" (of which I'm finishing up on) and taking nutritional supplements to help with my low potassium/sodium balance (low potassium), my magnesium/calcium balance (low magnesium), and low trace minerals.
Also, someone posted about apple cider vinegar for hairloss at the same time my results were read to me, so I also have 2 tsps of Bragg's ACV in a cup of water a half hour before every meal.
I started both protocols on October 4th.
I now have about 3/8 to 1/2 inch of new hair growth where the old fell out, and it is blonder; even at the roots of the remaining grey hairs!
I now do not care if the rest of my remaining long tresses fall out if this new hair is my future!!! (Well, maybe I care a little bit). ;-] WOW.
And to think I used to bleach my hair in my younger days.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,034,794I started on the detoxified Iodine back in early February after 8 days of the Standard Process leftovers I had from the chiro from years ago. I worked up to 8 drops a day, then detoxed horribly and stopped.
I then got into Iodoral, worked up to 50mg a day for about three weeks (I think) and detoxed back and stopped for awhile)
I can't do a thorough report justice right now, so won't. But I am back on Trapper's Iodine (to finish it off) at 100mg per day. I will then go to the Iodoral and stick with 100mg per day as tomorrow I start a month-long liver detox program and will stick with only fruit and nuts for the month (except for probably Thanksgiving Day perhaps) as I don't want to get "backed up". Too hard to deal with when detoxing. I believe my gallbladder or liver just dumped some stones yesterday too, as my excrement was green and I passed what felt like a bunch of rocks - so that was cool. I've been on an "aggressive" general detox cleanse for the last month.
(I was mostly detoxing this past month, with low amounts of iodine, just catching up on the minerals I was deficient in).

I was about 50% grey and a significant amount of that grey is gone, thanks to iodine. Recently I mentioned the change to my best friend and she said "I thought you were coloring your hair!".

This is a reply to # 1,034,860As most of you know I as have had hair loss issues. And whilst I still feel that I am losing more than I would like to when I shampoo (all natural of course), I have an inch of new hairs all over my head. I even have hair in the two areas (temples) where I have not had hair growing naturally in 7 years. 7 years ago I started using minoxidil for those areas and it worked. Recently it became less affective and I stopped using it. All the hair I had regrown fell out. But now it is all back. I still have fine hair. Maybe I will never have thick luscious hair, but at least I don't have patchy hair anymore, and the hair that I do have is chemical free.
As for grey, I am not sure. I stopped colouring when the hair loss became too severe (didn't want to make a bad situation worse). I don't have a lot of grey. You wouldn't notice unless you looked closely, but I did have some pretty evenly dispersed throughout. None of the new hairs are grey. I certainly don't feel the need to rush and colour my hair so maybe things are improving on that front as well. I bought myself some henna, but it is still sitting in the cupboard. If the grey becomes noticeable I guess I will use it, but I don't feel a burning desire at this stage, and this is coming from someone who has coloured her hair religiously for 10 years.Advertisement

This is a reply to # 1,034,755This board is still relatively new...so when reports of hair loss started to roll in, that REALLY bothered me. I still don't understand why it happens, I'm sure that there are a lot of reasons. Hearing that folks are not only re-growing hair, but re-growing non-gray hair, well, that's awesome! xxxooo to you all!
