Vaginal odor and discharge may be an indication of a localized infection.  If this is the case, you do need to treat it or it can spread into your fallopian tubes and ovaries, resulting in scarring and infertility, depending on the type of infection.  You do need to make an appointment with your doctor to have this checked, usually with a culture and sensitivity test, they can identify the type of micro-organism and determine the most effective medication that would kill this infection. 

If your doctor determines that you don't have a localized infection, then you might consider the possibility that your odor is coming from a metabolic disorder, such as tmau.  At that point I recommend that you be tested for this.  I don't know what country you're in, so I couldn't say where you should go to be tested.  I do recommend, however that you email the Trimethylaminuria Foundation at [email protected] to ask them for info on this very strong odor producing condition as well as where you can be tested.  But first, I would go to your doctor to see if it's just a localized infection.
