Please advise about chronic cough that is not productive...tickle dry cough, bronchitis, shortness of breath with and exertion or change in position, or action like answering the phone. I am a non smoker. This cough is worse in the morning and at night.
I am looking for a list of things to try, as I am running out of ideas. I have worked on this for years and it seems to be taking over my life. I am 57 years old.- Need to increase humidity.... katmom

This is a reply to # 1,341,291Sounds like you are in a low-humidity situation. Consider a humidifyer, also be sure you are drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day. A great choice is to have a carafe of your favorite tea/infusion available.
What area of the country do you live in?
What type of heating/cooling is being used in your home? Wood heat dehydrates the air and you too :)
Is your household fully non-smoking? Even traces of secondhand smoke are irritating to tissues. Air fresheners can also contribute to breathing problems.- Re: Need to increase humidity.... A Rose

yes!! I have 2 humififiers, live in the frozen mid-west, and live in a non toxic household because of my immune system...I do drink lots of water, green alkaline beverages, and hot tea. I am having a hard time going out this winter as I get weak and then need to rest even more if I push too hard. thank you for any more ideas.
