Dr. Jeff,
I ordered this product, l-citrulline, per your suggestion to help with the hives and had a terrible hive reaction to taking it. It contains magnesium oxide and after taking it I remembered that I had the same reaction to taking plain magnesium oxide (both by NOW) before.

Do you think that is what I am reacting adversely to? Could it be that the nitric acid is killing the candida giving me hives? I also have leaky gut and parasites.

Citrulline is an amino acid that helps to increase nitric oxide, not nitric acid. Citrulline can increase nitric oxide levels, improve circulation, and help in detoxifying ammonia.
Your hives most likely were related to the magnesium oxide, especially given your past experience with that. Whatever increases inflammation in your body will also increase the occurance of hives. This is also true for autoimmune responses. Most inflammation and autoimmune is thought to begin in the intestinal tract. This is why food allergies are associated with hives also, as they would cause an increase in inflammation.

This is a reply to # 1,367,629The curcumin/tumeric is good. Fish oils help to reduce inflammation and fish oils are good for the skin. Citrulline is an amino acid that is good at mopping up excess ammonia. Molybdenum is also useful for ammonia and aldehyde byproducts of candida albicans. These candida byproducts can cause hives.
In this post you suggested I take citrulline for hives, I'm confused, could you please clarify? I hate spending money on things I cannot take. Thank you.- Re: COnfused Dr. Jeff Dr.Jeff

This is a reply to # 1,367,636Ammonia is a byproduct of cellular respiration and is associated with the production of hives in the body. Assisting the body in eliminating waste products can help to reduce the inflammation that results. The production of inflammation for whatever reason will contribute to hives.
