I was told by the supplier of Lugol's Iodine (zerbos.com) that take 6 drops a day (break it to 4 times). since i have been suffering severe short breath and low heart rate, i doubt what i took was too much so i called today. another lady told me that was too much. even one drop 2 or 3 days. so i was confused.
how many Lugol's Iodine you guys take usually? i checked out some website and it looks like i did take too much!

Dosing is highly individual. I wouldn't listen to a supplier or anyone else. I wouldn't listen to an anonymous internet poster. You need to do some research, that FAQ is a good place to start, follow the links.
Some people struggle at very low doses, some can start right out at 50 or 100 mg with no problem, that depends on a variety of factors.
I personally chose to start at a very low dose(12.5mg(2 drops lugols) per day and up my dose slowly, took me 3 1/2 mos to get to 50mg. That worked for me.

I have one question. I just purchased the 2% Lugol's Iodine but it states it is a talisman. Can I ingest orally, and how much per day? I've done the test on my skin with one drop and it disappears in less than one hour. Thank you.

The Lugol's you bought is probably 2% (it'll say on the bottle). If it WAS 2%, then 1 drop is only about 5 mg. If it was 5%, then 2 drops is 25 mg.Dr. David Brownstein, author of "Iodine: Why you need it; Why you can't live without it" recommends AT MINIMUM 12.5 mg - 25 mg of iodine/potassium Iodide (lugols or iodoral), optimally he recommends 50mg.
12.5 mgs of Lugols at 5% is 1 drop (that's 1 iodoral tab)
25 mgs of Lugols at 5% is 2 drops (that's 2 iodoral tabs)
50 mgs of Lugols at 5% is 4 drops (that's 4 iodoral tabs)
So...6 drops of 5% lugols would be 72 mgs.
Dr. Brownstein recommends at minimum 100 mg for very severe conditions like breast cancer. So even 100 mgs is safe. That would be 8 drops of 5% or 8 iodoral tabs.
then 2% lugols is slightly less than half of 5% lugols: I'm not sure of the math so I'm guesstimating that 1 drop equals around 5-6 mgs of lugols.
5-6 mgs of lugols at 2% is 1 drop
10-12 mgs lugols at 2% is 2 drops
20-24 mgs lugols at 2% is 4 drops
and 6 drops would be about 30-36 mgs which would be well within Brownstein's recommendation of 25-50 mgs.
I've taken as much as 100 mgs of iodoral without any problems.

i checked out the bottle i got but it didn't show %. but i would certainly be careful with the does. my heart has been very fragile. when i take those allergy medicine my body just feel weak immediately while other people have no problem at all. i guess wombat is right, this is really depend on individual condition.- Re: how many drops of lugol's iodine... Yes dosing is highly individual; I didnt have much reaction until I upped to over 50 mg. I am now around 100 mg 5-6 days out of the week and still in a positive progress.
Others manage well with much lower doses.
If one experience detox or other negative reactions I would go a little lower or pulse the dose.
If no reaction and/or a serious condition I would go higher; all the way until a reaction or detox start. Thus find out your individual dose
The % of Lugols may be confusing; but one easy way to find out is to look at the color; the 2% looks like tea, the 5 % looks more like coffee.- Re: how many drops of lugol's iodine... yunyi2009

i have all hypothyroidism symptoms so i will stop for a few days and take it again, but i will take much less than before.
thank you ginagirl for the watercure site. it is great! very educational. i actually knew about watercure for longtime and i do drink lot of water everyday. it helps a lot!
i will go through other sites you post later. it is a lot of english to study:-)

LUGOL'S 5%: Each VERTICAL drop is about 6.25 mg of Iodine and 12.50 mg of potassium iodide.

Re Lugols. Amounts are incorrect... 1 drop of Lugols 5% is 6.25mg, which makes Lugols 2% equal 2.5mg for 1 drop. This is right off the Jcrows website (which for some reason I am not allowed to post)

I was told 15 drops 4x a day first day, then 15 drops 3x aday for 10 days. . then 10 drops 3x a day until improve.
I like my dosage and would like to increase it is safe, i have never felt soo great in my whole life. .I currently have thyroid condition and morgellons and trying to beat then with this

This is a reply to # 1,474,224I use 00 veggie caps. 22 drops fit. I use 5%lugols solution. I started at 12 drops daily. And increased 5 drops a week. At 33 drops i found i run efficiently. I felt a certain burn so im leveling off here for now. But i would increase until u feel a detox. But listen to your body. I found the more severe symptoms came at lower doses like 4-8 drops. Thyroid conditions need alot more than most. I support with bee pollen selenium, niacin, b12, Himalayan salt.
Look into dr daniels Turpentine cleanse
