It looks like you have eczema, but maybe another opinion would be helpful to be sure that it isn't something else. Do you have eczema anywhere else other than on your face? If it's only on your face, it's possible that you are using cleansers that you're allergic to. The first time I got eczema was when I started using a soap that had tea tree oil in it, which I was allergic too. The eczema got all over my hands. Then it went away after I figured out that the soap was causing the eczema, and I stopped using the soap. The next time I got eczema was when I used a botannical shampoo that had something in it I was allergic to, and the eczema got all over my shoulders. If you are allergic to cleaning products, it's important to use only hypoallergenic products.

One of the best hypoallergenic soaps is Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for sensitive skin. Don't get the general Cetaphil cleanser, though, because it has fragrances in it. Dove hypoallergenic soap for sensitive skin is also good, and I haven't had any problems with Aveeno fragrance free body wash. Hypoallergenic shampoos are harder to find. While manufacturers are quick to make cleansers for sensitive skin, no major manufacturer has seemed to come up with the idea of making a shampoo for sensitive skin (or at least I haven't found one.) After doing much research online, one I found is California Baby (for sensitive skin.) It is as hypoallergenic as it comes, and it cleans hair well. You can find the website by Googling "California Baby" if you're interested.

It's also important to stop using any detergents and soaps that are irritating to your skin. Sometimes fragrances in soaps can cause eczema, so using laundry detergents and fabric softeners that are fragrance free are best. I use fragrance free Tide and Downy, but there are others.

About cortisone creams--I haven't found them to be as useful as other options for eczema. Doctors like to prescribe them, but I haven't found cortisone creams to be as useful as Benadryl cream, which has zinc and an antihistamine in it.

I would say it is eczema!! I went through the same thing. It's a very long sad story, so I'll spare you. But I became allergic almost overnight to random moisturizers, cleansers and make up. That led to other sensitivities over the years. Then we moved to San diego and I delveloped severe eczema from head to toe, to the point of immobility. Anyway, I had blood tests and biopsy but was too covered for allergy testing. It occured to me that eczema, asthma, and hay fever are all genetic and also run in my family. I realized I'm allergic to lots of things outside. Anyway, it started like yours and has grown into an over reacting immune response to almost everything from lotions and potions to tropical plants.

I put myself on zyrtec-D back in January and stopped getting worse. I was improving at the rate I had hoped and had been seeing a homeopath for a while. (I gave up on doctors a long time ago and quit filling their stupid perscriptions for hydrocortizone.. useless and damaging in the long run). Anyway, my mom had has great relief from her hay fever with a homeopath remedy called Natrum Muricum. I tried it and I am happy to say I am almost 100% better. You can pick it up at the health food store at 30c potency or order it online.

Eczema is triggered differently in everybody, but your story is like mine in regard to the sudden onset from skin products. I still take zyrtec without the decongestant because I am not completely out of the woods but as I improve naturally from this remedy, I will wean myself off of it. FYI.. I started with the 30c potency off the shelf and it only healed me to a point so I ordered a 200c online and started taking it 2 weeks ago. I am amazed how much better I feel.

I don't know about you but I never realized the emotional shift that comes with allergies.. brain fog, anxiety, depression. As I get better, I feel "normal", clear headed, less anxious.

I hope this helps. My face looked just like your after using a face moisturizer with a pink tint. I realized I'm allergic to red/lavender dyes.. anything pinkish would send me to the same day clinic, but now I know and I avoid. With homeopathy, we don't have to slowly box ourselves in. It triggers your body to sort out the deep down cause that is triggering the immune response.. hense the eczema.

I didn't plan on going on and on like this..

Sorry to hear about your recent experience! I've never seen eczema flare up like that but you may have had a really bad reaction to something.
I suffer from really dry skin and was introduced to an amazing lotion that has cured my skin issues and my mom's in the process.
