My 17 year old son developed an ear infection on holiday several weeks ago. He came back with deafness in one ear which he'd had most of the holiday. We think it was from swimming in a friend's pool which was low in chloride.

Anyway, he has had two rounds of different ear Antibiotic drops and then a swab was taken to identify the bacteria, and then a week on strong oral Antibiotics , and none of this did anything at all.

I've got him on the herb Pau d' Arco now, which is a natural antibiotic, antifungal, antiinflammatory herb. I have also used collidial silver twice.

I stopped the CS because i thought nothing will work until the gunk/wax has come out, as there is probably water behind the wax continually keeping the ear infected and why nothing is working.

I need to get the ear free flowing to give any treatment a chance of working.

I started the warm olive oil treatment yesterday but nothing other than the oil comes out.

Apparently they won't flush the ear, with infection present, so going back to the doctors will probably just mean another round of Antibiotics .

It must be very impacted, so does any one have any other suggestions, and how long does olive oil take to loosen the wax.

He is on pain killers every day which i hate him taking, so i just want this resolved.
