a couple of us had pretty severe weight loss. (I think bass was another) I lost exactly 1 pound every week and 1/2 for about a year. I could have eaten an entire buffet by myself and not gained an ounce. I reached a point where my family was pulling my husband aside and telling him to not let me lose any more weight-I looked skeletal. The only guess I have is that I was not absorbing anything I was taking in. I was also unable to hold water. I was in the bathroom every hour. Within 2 weeks of removal I gained around 5 pounds and my bladder was fine.

Anxiety, depression, headaches and cramping are all documented side effect.

I found my rheumatologist to be the most helpful. I saw an endocronologist first.

I had trouble with weight loss. I also had a borderline overactive thyroid and still do. My weight became stable within a month of having it out though. I hope you decide to have it removed since it CAN'T help your problems. I have 4 little ones and know what it's like to not be able to function for them. I have lost weight too over the summer its like for the last few years such a struggle to loose weight and then all of a sudden start loosing weight, I have to admit I was trying at first but then its like my hormones went into hyper drive and was loosing weight without doing anything. Lost 40lbs in 6 mths. The last 10-15 without effort, now I eat pretty much anything I want and still keep it off. If mirena is affecting my hormones it explains alot, even had the eye doc tell me this morning that hormones can really affect your eyes and even make one pupil larger then the other (Which I have and never noticed before) My vision fluctuates from needing glasses to not needing glasses, the optometrist not sure what to think, just says it must be hormones or over stimulation from anxiety. Since the doctors ruled out all the scary stuff it could be like ms and tumors.

I have really looked at my life in the past few years while having merina, and really I can detect a gradual change in myself. Moments I recalled having anxiety, but not normal anxiety, over nothing or happy things. Before Merina I wasn't an anxious person but the changes were so gradual I didn't pay as much attention to them until they came out full blown and all at once. I have been refered to a specialist to remove my merina but it might not be for another month or so, not happy about that. But its a process I guess. Looking forward to getting it out and feeling like the real me. Its been 4 yrs, not sure who that is.... Thanks girls for all your replies and its nice to know I am not alone in this, I come here on days I feel really bad and it makes me feel better to know they're are people facing the same things and that I am not going crazy.
