Good for you!

I have quit drinking for three weeks now, I was never a drinker to drink to get drunk, just use to having a couple drinks before dinner, every day. I have been having some health problems and was told to quit. I never thought I was doing my body any harm, afterall its often spoke of as a tonic, right? Or at least that is what I told myself because that is what I wanted to believe.

With three weeks in, I dont even miss it! Wish I had of done it sooner.

A word of advice, if you have a lot of friends who drink and like to go out to bars or drink at social events, it might be best to avoid that situation until you get a good handle on it.

I agree. I need to quit drinking but do not agree with AA. I dont like the concept of admitting you are powerless. I believe with willpower and focus we can achieve anything. I think the hardest thing to do is replacing drinking with another hobby. So do your best to keep yourself busy. Replace drinking with reading, working out, or something to improve your life. This way you can also see improvements along the way. I know it's easier said than done so good luck.
