Hello, I am new and happy to be here. I just am not sure where to start, there are a lot of posts so hopefully someone can guide me to some helpful threads or sites, or any info! I am going to start reading the posts as well daily.
About 7 weeks ago I went to a holistic wellness clinic because I felt tired, anxious and foggy headed so much of the time. I also started to crash after exercising. They did a number of lab tests and found out my cortisol level were very low:
Morning - 14.9 nm (Range 13-24)
Noon - 4.6 nm (Range 5-8)
Afternoon - 2.1 nm (Range 4-7)
Night - 2.1 nm (Range 1-3)
DHEA SUM = 1.03 (Range 2-10)
Cortisol/DHEA ratio = 23.8 (Range 5-6)
I also did a thyroid panel and everything was fine except the free T3 which was at 598 (top of the range being 350). A different test showed pregnenolone and DHEA were also rock bottom.
I changed my diet to eliminate caffeine, processed foods,
Sugar and most oils. I did a dairy challenge and gluten challenge with the only issue being milk. I am taking about 65 pills a day including vitamins, minerals and amino acids. I also take isocort (new formula). I took a long vacation, reduced stress, and rest when I can, and stopped exercising. I am also now seeing a wholistic MD who started me on Time Release T3 (very low dose) for the thyroid.
The problem is that I don't really feel any better. Should I be more patient or should I see some results by now? I still get very fatigued every day by 4:30 and somedays can barely get out of bed. In bed on the weekend until the afternoon and still don't have any energy. When I do get fatigued I feel like I have a sore throat and a sore gland on one side of my neck.
Help help help! I have read so many different opinions and treatments I am just now very confused, and so very tired of being tired! This is really ruining my life and I'm getting 'down' now.
