Hi everyone, hoping you can help. My mother is 94 and has JAK-2 positive thrombocytosis, which is being managed with Hydrea. She is having an exacerbation in depressive symptoms, so we are wondering if Hydrea could have anything to do with that. She was taking Lexapro for depression, but then switched to Cymbalta. She didn't feel very well on Cymbalta, so the doctor is now switching her back to Lexapro. The mood issues were getting worse before the changing of the meds occurred.
I didn't see Depression as one of Hydrea's side-effects, but thought it was worth asking the question here.

I wanted to reply to you because I have had thrombocytosis since the late 90's. My counts were 950,000 and they wanted to put me on these terrible meds. I believe in natural medicine and began looking for a cure.
I think that thrombocytosis is caused by heavy metal poisoning. I did a heavy metal flush and my numbers dropped to the 600's!

I had a check up with my hemotologist last month and we both were astounded at my numbers dropping. I'm still taking a daily dose of the nano detox and my numbers are still falling. I have a CBC every month.
It's worth trying and it's worth getting your Mom off of these harmful meds.
