Woman starves to death in spiritual quest to live on sunlight alone

A woman starved to death after embarking on a spiritual journey which involved giving up food and water and attempting to exist on nothing but sunlight.
The Swiss woman, who was in her fifties, apparently got the idea after watching the documentary film 'In the Beginning, There Was Light' which features an Indian guru who claims to not have eaten anything in 70 years.
The Zurich newspaper Tages-Anzeiger reported Wednesday that the unnamed woman decided to follow the radical fast in 2010

The paper claimed there have been similar cases of self-starvation in Germany, Britain and Australia.
The prosecutors' office in the Swiss canton of Aargau confirmed Wednesday that the woman died in January 2011 in the town of Wolfhalden in eastern Switzerland.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Rissi says prosecutors haven't opened a criminal investigation over the woman's death.
Followers of the cult Breatharianism believe that the energy they save on digesting food and drink can be transformed into physical, emotional and spiritual energy.
In 1999, Australian-born Verity Linn, 49, was found dead in a remote part of the Scottish Highlands after attempting a 21-day fast.
Excerpts from her diary showed she was refusing to eat or drink in the belief it would 'spiritually cleanse' her body and 'recharge her both physically and mentally'.
In a separate incident a woman died in an Australian hospital after attempting a 21-day fast.

The advice of some people, may do more harm than good.
A person can come on curezone and ask a few questions. You know very little about their health, or what they already understand.
Some people are recommending severe treatments.
Then people may say they had a bad reaction to the treatment, and the advice is often, do more of this severe treatment.
Be very careful. The other person may not be as healthy as you, and may not understand what you understand.
As for fasting: A safe way to fast is to have a healthy breakfast, and fast the rest of the day. I think it would be wise to recommend inexperienced people not to fast more than 2 days without medical supervision.
Fasting is not the only area where severe treatments, or ineffective treatments, are recommended or being used.
To those reading curezone: There are some sensible people giving good advice on curezone. However, there is also some bad advice on curezone. When you have a public forum, where anyone can give advice, you get all types. Use your own intelligence to find out all you can before believing everything. Inexperienced people should start out with the more gentle methods first.
Another thing to be aware of: There are some who just repeat what they find somewhere else on the internet. They treat this as if it is proof. In some cases, the information they are repeating is bad information. Don't believe everything.
You can often get valuable information from people who have successfully overcome a medical condition.

Like stop eating for more than 21 days. It may be alright for healthy people with a good understanding of what they are doing. It can kill others.
More than one person has complained about harmful effects of the Liver Flush promoted on curezone. There is a safe gentle method using herbs, which is rarely discussed on curezone.
A little while ago I remember reading about a person who had enemas on a regular basis until he stopped having natural bowel movements. Some people use enemas as part of an aggressive detoxification process. But if healthy people have enemas on a long-term basis, it may do more harm than good.
There has been a lot of advice to have Amalgam fillings removed, but the harmful effects of x-rays were rarely mentioned. So people have been having x-rays before having their Amalgam fillings removed.
There seems to be a lot of advice for using inorganic supplements, but not enough advice for using organic things, such as foods and herbs. Organic things are much more beneficial in promoting a genuine improvement in health.
There are some people following the advice on curezone, who are just as sick at the end of treatment, as they were at the beginning.

This is a reply to # 1,933,846This is very sad. The woman was under a spiritual delusion that she became so wrapped up in she could not see clearly. I hope somebody who may be on the same deadly path sees this post and takes heed before it is too late.
