I live in the Seattle area and just saw a bit on the news about a new breast cancer treatment that shortens the process considerably. This method of lumpectomy requires only a one day visit at the hospital with no return visits required.

Virginia Mason Medical Center, in Seattle, Washington, is the first medical center in Washington state to offer intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) to treat women with early stage breast cancer.
Radiation therapy helps prevent breast cancer recurrence by eliminating microscopic cancer cells following treatment with surgery. The standard method of radiation therapy requires daily radiation to the whole breast for a total of three to six weeks, and even newer partial-breast irradiation techniques require 10 treatments over five days.
Now a much faster, more localized method of radiation treatment is available for patients following lumpectomy for breast cancer. Intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) is a one-time treatment administered into the tumor bed at the time of breast surgery. With IORT, a radiation oncologist and physicist work with the breast surgeon to deliver an effective dose of radiation in a single session. Immediately after removal of the tumor, a highly localized radiation dose is directly delivered to the tumor site. Once the portable therapy unit is set up for treatment, IORT takes only minutes to administer for most patients. Upon completion of the radiation treatment, the delivery catheter is removed and the incision is closed to complete the procedure.
The significant benefits of intraoperative radiation therapy over standard radiation therapy include:
Who is eligible to have intraoperative radiation therapy?
Potential candidates for breast IORT are women aged 45 or older with a new diagnosis of early-stage breast cancer who are planning to undergo lumpectomy. Virginia Mason's breast cancer specialists work in partnership with every patient to determine the best individual treatment options. IORT requires the expertise of a radiation oncologist who will consult with the patient to form a treatment plan and deliver the therapy during surgery. Since IORT is a new technique used to treat breast cancer, Virginia Mason only offers this treatment as part of a clinical study to patients who meet study eligibility criteria. Patients will be monitored over time to determine the effectiveness of treatment.
Thanks for the information, but surgery and radiation are two of the largely failed trio of mainstream cancer treatment (the other being chemotherapy). None of those address the root cause of cancer, they almost never get all of the cancer, and do nothing to prevent the return of cancer. In fact, they typically pave the way for the return of more aggressive cancer due to the damage the immune system (our natural first line of defense against cancer and other illness) and changes they cause in the cancer cells.

The study was specifically conducted on breast cancer cells.
I sometimes believe that you live in your own personal dooms day bunker and never come out.
I'm a 20 year prostate cancer survivor - intervention refused. I'm a 3 year lung cancer lobectomy survivor with not a hint of recurrence. In my last bout of lung cancer in the other lung I used Essiac tea along with Pau d'arco tea for a couple of months and all it got me was heart flutter which required surgery and not even a hint of stopping the growth of the lung cancer. In fact it continued to grow. I've tried many "alternative" avenues from more than 30 liver flushes (what comes out is what you put in at flush time) including drinking my own pee. The pee ingestion has produced wonderful healings and I've continued it for a number of years. In my 80th year I expect to be around for quite a while.
I have a shirt tail relative who was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and she refused conventional treatment and went with her dentist father's alternative route - don't know which one it was, but it has now infested her lymph system and she has now decided to finally turn to conventional medicine, when she could have been well and healthy if she'd had gone that route originally. She will now be a statistic in a very short time. Did I mention Steve Jobs? The alternative cancer treatment that's never mentioned on these boards.
You can find off breed statistics anywhere you wish. With that you can make an excellent case to stay out of your automobile, particularly the freeway. People die there, thousands and thousands every year. You can instead use a bicycle but here in the Seattle area we've had many bicyclists killed by automobiles on the streets of the city and pedestrians too have been killed locally in just the past few days.
Or, we can do like you do Q, stay in your bunker, don't exercise, and drink poison soup - even though it is shown that light joggers live 6 years longer than those who don't.
A former jogger, but current walker.
Congratulations on your success - I always am heartened to see anyone beat hated cancer, regardless of how they did it.
Insofar as living in an isolated bunker, I have researched and written about cancer alternatives for years and am the moderator of a group that has been around over 7 years and has over 2600 members. I can't vouch for what a dentist may have recommended, but I can tell you that there are alternatives which are hands down more successful than surgery, radiation or chemo - including the protocol which I recommend (which is much more than merely a combination of essiac tea and pau de arco) and which, as best we can determine has had about 95% success with stage I and II cancers and 85% with stage II and IV cancers - and that includes a great many people whom mainstream medicine failed to help.
One of those was my uncle, who is older than you. He tried "targeted radiation" and was assured by his oncologist that his lung cancer had been detected early enough that chances for success were very great. Instead, his cancer continued to grow and multiply and spread to other parts of his body - until he rejected mainstream medicine and changed to alternatives I suggested. He is now cancer free and has been for years.
Speaking of Steve Jobs, another person who used our protocol was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer about the same time as Patrick Swayze. Swayze, who went mainsteam with surgery and chemo and advice to "starve out his cancer" went from a robust man in his fifties to a shell of a man who looked to be in his 90s and then died in about 18 months. He died not from his cancer but from wasting disease brought on by his mainstream treatment. The guy who went the alternative route halted and regressed his cancer, gained his weight back and ultimately resumed playing his beloved golf.
I bet you that I can name many, many more celebrities who died after opting for mainstream treatment than you can who died opting for alternative treatment. And how about that Suzanne Summers, huh?
You were responding to a very new, one day treatment and cure for breast cancer and you are absolutely blind when you cannot accept that new and alternative treatment.
"...but I can tell you that there are alternatives which are hands down more successful than surgery, radiation or chemo - including the protocol which I recommend (which is much more than merely a combination of essiac tea and pau de arco) and which, as best we can determine has had about 95% success with stage I and II cancers and 85% with stage II and IV cancers - and that includes a great many people whom mainstream medicine failed to help."
Those are pretty good numbers but I'd like to see them backed up. Why hasn't the mainstream media caught on to them? One of the problems here on CZ in particular is there is generally no legitimate diagnosis before treatment? I've seen many different ones who post under CZ Cancer section who self diagnose and say they have cancer. I've seen some posts whose alternative doctor say they have cancer but I seriously doubt if any of them do. So when you present your numbers, make sure they have been diagnosed by legitimate medical methods. Your large following some other place is probably a Yahoo group of some kind and again, where's the before (properly diagnosed) and after statistics.
I've seen you post many times that there are CZ members who "cured" cancer with your methods yet I never see their posts.
(I still love Canadian Yoda's posts of her stage 4 healing with Essiac tea an Pau d'arco. Have any of those who use your methods even approached hers?)
You also reject spontaneous cancer healing and I accept it wholeheartedly. I was raised in a Pentecostal church and believe in the many spontaneous healings that I witnessed and while I no longer follow that path, I have found a group who believes and teaches through an inward journey that we are each a bright spark of eternal light. I've found and experienced that light and also recognize that everything that has happened in my life I have created, including my cancers, and so has everybody else - including you. With that I have also experienced spiritual healings of physical ills, something that from previous posts I know that you reject. One book on that level that really stands out is "Dying To Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True Healing" who battled cancer (with alternative methods) for four years only to die/have a NDE, and returned to completely heal her body in just a few short months. Everyone - including your friend who died of cancer, chooses when and how they will die. You fail to accept that fact and through your blame of the medical community (might be true, but he accepted it) you have gone off on a tangent trying to work out his solutions and not your own.
By the way, Wayne Dyer was healed of his leukemia by John of God in Brazil.
The foulness that you so many times post against those who don't believe and hate the medical community like you do represents what inside of you waiting to be healed.
I was basically raised in an alternative world, before miracle drugs when nobody had health insurance so I am very familiar with the alternative field. Yet I also learned while in combat in Korea that my Navy corpsman (who served alongside of us Marines - without a weapon) was a God. He and the medical MASH unit behind the lines along with the hospital ship in Inchon Harbor were there for a very useful where it was totally impossible for any alternative medical person of any kind to operate with anything to contribute. They put their lives in danger so that others might live. That's my view of the medical world. I have literally watched men die in combat many times while corpsmen tried to save them and your abuse of the medical field is akin to treason. They aren't perfect, but they have a purpose and a very useful one at that.
The mainstream media by and large does not report on any alternative cures which are not controlled and/or patented by mainstream medicine. Not coincidentally, besides being fed news by mainstream medicine, the mainstream media depends on hundreds of millions of dollars annually in mainstream medical ads and is not prone to bite the hands that feed it.
If you have not seen any success stories posted by people who followed my suggestions then you haven't looked hard enough. There are plenty made by CZ members themselves. I really don't have the time to go look all of them up, but you might check out this RN rated post regarding testimonials:

There is a very good reason why the highly regarded CancerTutor site has rated the protocol I advocate as among the top handful out of well over 300 alternative therapies they have researched.
I too loved Canadian Yoga's success story - and yes, we success stories which rival it (not that it is a contest when it comes to success). If you check, you will find a number of success reports using a combination of oleander, Buwig and Essiac Tea.
For the record, I have never rejected spontaneous healing.
My friend who died of cancer? What or who are you referring to?
I also note that you are calling the new therapy a cure when it is actually just being reported as a promising new therapy which has had not time of studies to see how successful it may or may not be. The long history of the mostly failed mainstream "war on cancer" is full of reports of new breakthroughs and of cures being just around the corner - all of which largely failed to live up to the hype.
Since this appears to have turned into a debate, if you want to debate further I suggest taking it to the Cancer Debate forum instead of here on support forums. I also suggest that you desist with the unwarranted and false personal attacks which are a violation of CZ terms of service and instead follow the Webmaster's admonition to "challenge the message and not the messenger".
