was grown in some of my swabs taken back at hospital. they clearly have said that this is a secondary infection and is not the underlyeing cause of my lips biopsy. they said if the crust remains the bacteria thrive and grow off that. thats why they have asked me to not let the crusts build up.
i dont really understand wtf this means becasue alot of my swabs and biospy's have grown in these test. but iv treated my lips both with plety of anti-bacterial and anti-biotics for several months. thats why i would agree with them in saying it is secondary.
anywyas just thought i would let you guys know
and also one of my auto-immune disease test came back "weakly positive" the letter said that they didnt believe that this was the casue as in other test they did it came back negative so i dont know wtf that means either. im going to see my physian to give him a big PLEASE f***INIGNG EXPLAIN! hahaha
and also my biopsy result showed a very unusual large amount of blood vessels whihc shouldnt normally be there!
anyways guys im currently putting evening promise oil on my lips i bought some cocoa butter lip balm today just the aplmer brand with sp15 i might try a combo with that for a few days. until my elovera comes in! i go back to work in 4 days so im beging to get nervous as hell!!!!!!!!
anyways guys have a great night or mornign or what ever the f***kk it is were you live and try to not fufkcicncingiggggg think about your lips for a bit of a day! go out and take your loved one in the park and soak up the sun or pump some weights and take your anger out on your body! works a treat!

Hey what kind of job are you going to do? I also plan to work for this year but of course I don't have any experience so I will do a crappy job. Damn, live with EC is like live against the current, we shouldn't be in this position actually.
Until the end of this year I will try antiparasitic and antifungal, I'm still on Mupiderm, since one week, close to stop. In the meantime, there is my colonoscopy. Then I'll probably try some moisturizers rencently mentioned here and stick with them.
I tend to believe, unless proven otherwise, my EC is due to lip biting and picking, probably maintained, against my will, when I was constantly rubbing my lips with lip products, feeding the inflammation.
But I firstly want to try to kind of sterilize my lips with creams aforementioned.

This is a reply to # 1,992,983i think strongly ec is just a type on chilitis. it really is i mean its mainly inflammation that is causing alot of problems. i think its just the top 2 layers that cant heal back to normal i dont f***inngingg no why! and becasue these layers cant heal and protect the lips there always inflammed and a breeding ground for bacteria etc etc. its like having raw skin on your elbow's it would always get infected and would always be a bit inflammed. i just really want to stop the peeling and the white gunk/crap that shows its self with contact of water. as much as i hate to say it its very possible that we have very rare condition of exzma. i mean all the symptoms match except the itcyness! ill let you know how elovera cream goes. im pretty confident about it. at the same time i will see a natural doctor for anti-inflammatory stuff.
i was wondering if maybe moisturizing our lips and applying a streriod baes ointment or cream only twice a week for a period of 6 months.
yes i have to go back to work so i can get my mind off this shit!

Thanks for providing us with these details. Your naturopath might suggest bee propolis (assuming you aren't allergic) since it has both anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory properties and maybe antibacterial properties as well. Maybe if you got a lot of cash you might also check out alligator oil.
But shit, you live in Australia, just grab an emu and make some oil! Studies have shown emu oil has anti-inflammatory properties and it is bacteriostatic, meaning bacteria can't grow in it, so it lasts a long time. And a little bit goes a long way towards moisturizing if that's your plan now.

This is a reply to # 1,992,980You said something very similar a few days ago. Even if it is "just" a secondary infection and if it's not or was not causing the EC in the first place, it might very well prevent the cheilitis from healing. When you reread sebs post, he was diagnosed with Staphylococcus aureus superinfection, and superinfection is another term for "secondary infection". They often occur e.g. with atopic eczemas, aggravating the condition. Secondary does not (necessarily) mean that you can just ignore it and that it does not have anything to do with the condition
And you using antibacterial creams for a while might not have been enough. Again, looking at sebs posts, he is doing a LOT of things to prevent a reinfection with the bacteria, using surgical washing liquid stuff on many parts of his body, changing his pillow casing every day, even storing his towels etc separately from his wife, etc., etc. His doctors surely did not instructed him to do that for the fun of it :-)

Here is my say. "Fibroblast growth factors promote angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels from the pre-existing vasculature." This is a reply to # 1,993,033I read there was something you could take internally to decrease fibroblasts, but I was not sure if it was for the right fibroblasts. There are different types of fibroblasts.
What I wrote was summary of what I read. The actinic cheilitis and keloid scar were not in the same article, but it is the same principle. Yesterday, I posted a couple of study article links. The most common term used to describe increased fibroblasts was proliferation of the skin, which means to multiply rapidly producing new cells/tissue. An article on keloid scars mentioned how the fibroblasts thickened the skin or scar tissue. Fibroblasts affect how the top layer of skin holds together.
I think increased fibroblasts are the cause more than anything else.- Re: JSL!!! Healing2021

A biopsy was done in study on normal lips and actinic cheilitis lips. When a study is done, things are checked that might not be routinely checked. As I said, it is normal to have fibroblasts in lip tissue. However, it is abnormal to have too little or too many of them. So, a biopsy or possibly noninvasive microscopy can detect increased fibroblasts if a doctor specifically looks for the number.
Oh, here is a link about filggrin. It is separate from fibroblasts, but I thought it was interesting how a genetic mutation can cause eczema. It affects the skin barrier. Individuals with mutations in the gene coding for filaggrin are strongly predisposed to a severe form of eczema.
Scientists hope to develop treatments for eczema through their newfound knowledge of filaggrin.

I am trying to figure out the raw part on top lip since it is different than bottom lip- it does not get thickened skin like bottom lip because it too raw for skin to hold there. I wish someone would have a biopsy of the raw area on top lip. I do not know if it is unrelated to the bottom lip since some people with EC just have it on bottom lip without raw area on top lip. I am not sure if the raw top lip is related to allergies. All I know is the raw skin was healed for 1-2 months in my case, then somehow went raw again. I have no idea if the raw area could lack fibroblasts in contrast to the bottom lip. Aloe vera is supposed to increase fibroblasts so it might help the raw part if it lacks fibroblasts.- Re: Coenzyme Q10 Healing2021

Your the only person I have heard that has this "raw top lip". Everyone else just has regular EC on top and bottom. So why don't you get a biopsy done on that area, because nobody else seems to have the same thing going on.- Re: Coenzyme Q10 longterm

This is a reply to # 1,993,075Not everyone has the raw triangular part on upper lip. But that part only seems to form white, wet skin. It never dries and peels unless I put a drying agent on it. It could be because I have an increased # of enlarged fordyce spots right there that may keep the area moist unlike the bottom lip. Some people might have blocked fordyce spots, but I do not think mine are blocked so the area stays more moist.-

I need to look into this further, but it seems like fibroblast growth factor affects sebaceous glands (fordyce spots)- at least in hamsters.

mitogen activity in fordyces spots.
A mitogen is a chemical substance that encourages a cell to commence cell division, triggering mitosis. A mitogen is usually some form of a protein.
Anyway, it might explain why I have so many fordyce spots on raw part of upper lips= cell division.

This is a reply to # 1,993,085Deletion of fibroblast growth factor in mice resulted in severe sebaceous gland atrophy. This suggests if we decrease our fibroblast growth factor or fibroblasts, our sebaceous glands (fordyce spots) may decrease in size.

This is a reply to # 1,993,075Potassium Iodine is another option since it decreases proliferation activities of fibroblasts. I am not sure if the silicone scar strip or potassium Iodine will work faster. I will use the silicone scar strip while I sleep and the potassium Iodine drops during the day.

Although the following information relates to a keloid scar, it might also relate to thickened lip skin since iodine has been shown to decrease fibroblasts.
"Potassium Iodide ( SSKI ). SSKI must be rubbed into the keloid at least twice daily (more applications offer even better results) for several months to more than a year, depending on the severity of the keloid. Be patient, because progress often isn’t obvious for 2-3 months.
Despite the somewhat lengthy treatment period, persistence pays off. Eventually, SSKI will diminish a keloid scar until it’s just an “ordinary” scar, flat to the skin surface again. At that point, the SSKI applications can be discontinued and the keloid won’t re-establish itself."
