If you are questioning your sanity, more than likely it's very healthy!
The old adage of "Those that are insane don't know it" springs to mind.

When we come across information that challenges our current, long-held, dogma-driven, brain-washed belief systems it can have an effect of one's mind being in discord.

We try to assimilate everything and put the information into 'boxes' that fit our current views...this unconscious process helps us to filter all information.
The type of topics you refer to are not so easily pigeon-holed and we don't know how to 'file' the information, leading to a sense of mental discord.

It's natural.

Most people who are faced with information that challenges current beliefs become initially rejecting, sometimes even anger will rise, others turn away from it and will not embrace it at all. We all react differently to opposing views.

I like your thread title - "if you open your mind too much your brain will fall out" :-)
The advantage of this happening is that all that is left is the 'mind' without the brain interfering with what it believes to be rational logic to assimilate information, which oftentimes is actually very irrational!
I see the mind and brain as 2 separate things...other's don't.

We can't know. We can only sense with the tools we have...to try to make sense of it all...without going mad! ;-)

Just some of my thoughts on what you wrote...and to add that i think it's impossible to lose 'self'...which ultimately IMO is our sanity.

Living to 900 would be cool! :-) I could finally do allll the things i've always wanted to do!

The subject matters you've been researching are just as valid and just as untrue as all 'fields' of information.
Discernment is the key.
If something 'resonates' with you, is a good indication it is information YOU need for YOUR path in this life. There's no lies or truths to be pondered...go with what you feel you like to open to...allow it to stew within your mind.
We are exponential growth in understanding reality and constantly adding to the mass consciousness of what that 'reality' is.

Although the foundation of your understanding may feel shaken with new subjects, it shows just how much in your 'self' you are to have the courage of heart/mind etc to open to these concepts.

I look at it this way-
our Maker has given everybody bits of the puzzle
and some of our puzzlebits get rotated and flipped /completely/ the wrong way (by the enemy of the Maker!)

I've done the conspiracy-theory, apocryphal book reading, assassination documentary, alternative-creation-theory circle.

It's certainly shifted my worldview and realm of thought so far out of analytical westernisim, that I find it hard to figure out where to start with someone when I want a good chatter! :V

Insanity in it's groundstate is a mind not connected to the sphere of conscious that the world calls 'the norm'. I've been out of 'the norm' often enough to consider insanity not an illness, but rather like a deafness...

... You end up deaf to the way the world around you communicates and thinks

--- and in turn become more silent
~~~ and then spend more time thinking
... than you actually do making sense.

Calling that state faulty
is to begin with, faulty
because the fault is with the folk who don't have a window in on your mind
and not you, persay-

The difficulty with a paradigm-shift in progress is...

... how much time it takes to sort the new information,
.... how much time it takes to breathe and recoup the body (reassertion of new neural pathways)
..... lastly, learning to recommunicate with a world that is still flat(tish).

See, paradigm shifts take you out of the circles that the people around you are swimming in
so you go from circular thinking,
to exploring the depths and heights of different seas of thought
And no one's yet followed you there

So how do you lead someone along the cross-current flows of information
when you want them to join you..?

Sounds to me like you're on the transformation-atonement part of the cycle (see the wikipedia article) :)

The Maker has gifted you from birth with unique and incredible spiritual gifts..
part of the experience of going for a little while on the deafness of insanity

is a chance to explore those gifts and the truths of spiritual life.

I started to swim away from traditional western theology nearly 10 years ago, so I have NO idea how to define where I'm at in that journey,

but I'll be honest, I had a good hard look at what Katt Kerr is saying on youtube, right up and down the spectrum with what I know from el - bible- o, and I've read the books of Enoch through and through, etc.

Hey, I have been in your exact same situation; your mind has convinced you your whole life that things are a certain way and not that is being dissolved so it is like a part of yourself is dying, it is definitely a good thing but is is also quite uncomfortable. Try to relax and keep yourself grounded during this time, eat healthy nourishing food, be out in nature, go for walks, don't let yourself get stressed out. You might want to learn some meditation although that can take you even further down the rabbit hole.

Also, it is good to research all of this stuff but also know that at the core everything is much simpler than it seems. Conspiracy theories and what not are very good to know about but it is also important to keep in mind that the world is getting better day by day regardless of what big brother wants, although just like you, the world is probably going to go through a difficult transition period everything is going to be so much better in the world. People are waking up from their sleep all the time and then they are waking up other people and it is spreading like wild-fire. Conspiracy masterminds can only accomplish their goals on a population full of sleepers, they will fail. Also know that everything is always 'okay' and all suffering is only in the mind, when the suffering in the mind is ended, conspirators, armies, and kingdoms can't touch you.
