I wasn't sure if anyone had any good links to articles explaining why websites state Iodine supplementing is limited to 250mcg any anything over can be toxic?? I find when I talk to friends/family about Iodine they don't believe me too much because they Google Iodine and 99% of the "reputable" medical sites state most people get plenty of Iodine from iodized salt and then my info is thrown out the window. I would like to have websites or links I could forward to them. Thanks!Advertisement

It is very important to realize that today’s Lugol’s is not universally the same as it was because of new federal legal requirements about concentration levels, where Lugols is regulated to 2% & 5%

This is a reply to # 2,149,807You could also ask them to prove high dose Iodine is dangerous. Quoting that webmd states the safe upper limit is 400mcg does not explain why. Have them back it up with actual scientific data and not just because webmd said so.
Thats as far as I would go because if they are not interested enough in proving its toxic then they arent interested enough to care about or understand your explanation as to why its not toxic. - Re: Information to back Iodine in hi... Professor Terguson

This is a reply to # 2,149,807This shouldnt come as any surprise to anybody who's studied govt recommendations on other vitamins or minerals.. Most all nutrients are given suggested dosages of niggardly amounts. Its always the bare minimum.. Just enough to cure scurvy, rickets, beri-beri, and in the case of Iodine - to cure goiter.
