Hello World!!
I'm new to this sort of thing but I often find great information on this site. I'm currently 9 days deep into a long term juice fast or rather juice "feast". I've done several Water Fast in the past as well as a dry fast. I've always broke under pressure. The love of food is strong in this one. Now although juicing doesn't work the way Water Fasting does (The way I wish it did), It does get me to the next day. I have kids that I need to keep energetic for. So..Day 9! 4 juices a day 16-20 ounces. My morning juice consist of fruit with some veggies. Lunch has abit more veggies. My last two meals are all veggie. I drink water and herbal teas before, during and after my juice meals. Mint tea is my favorite but I also use others. I don't drink green tea (No Caffine). I do however add a bit of honey and a slice of lemon. I use Epsom Salt in my bath. I'm starting to workout. I was going to the gym before and I plan on going back, I just would like to lose more weight first. I love swimming but the chlorine is super strong... and it's not exactly something I want to come in contact with. So I plan on stationery biking when I get back. So far I've went from 237 lbs. to 219 lbs. Giving me a total of 18 lbs. lost ( but not forgotten). My goal is to be the lowest healthiest weight possible (115 ish) and my goal is 120 days. Whichever comes first. I will be juicing through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve... Because I need to. Because it's time for a change and time for me to take care of myself. I get discouraged by the slowing or stand still of weight loss but I know I have to push it out of my mind and just stay focused. After my juicing, I will ease into eating and prepare to start Insanity workout program. Once I get where I'm going, there's no turning back. I will be doing dance dance revolution (because I can :p) soon. I hope to inspire and to be inspired. Have a great day.

This is a reply to # 2,217,755Thank you very much! Day 24 and down to 211.6lbs. Trying to stay off the evil scale. I don't juice as many veggies as I did but I keep my "dinner" mostly veggies. Sometimes I enjoy a plain fresh tomato juice (mmm). Keep on keepin' on :)

This is a reply to # 2,218,957So... just incase anyone is interested ill just type a bit about my adventure so far. I'm happy with my progress but I'm unhappy with my numbers. I say I'm unhappy with my numbers not because of the weight loss starting to slow... but because I've reached so high in the first place. It's hard man... hitting reality hurts. And when ur face deep in a burger or two with a large root beer, your brain is too fogged to care. I have asthma now-- as of last year. I never thought I'd get sick. Both my mother and brother are diabetic and even though I ate terribly, I still believed I was invincible. I now know I was very ignorant. Many get upset when people juice for weight loss and not for healing. Regardless of the reasons, the fast will definitely show you that there is so much to fast for. Also being overweight is very well a health issues. Physical and emotional... I digress lol. I can see that my body is full of toxins. The other night I waited a bit longer than usual to make my juice. Before I started drinking, I noticed my chest was breaking out into a rash. After finishing my "meal" the redness started to fade. This made me think about Water Fasting again-- so maybe towards the end I will attempt a 23 day juice fast to help my body do some deeper cleaning. My headaches aren't as bad. I'm very thankful for that. I've always gotten headaches. Seemed like everyday...good buddy ibuprofen was always there to save me. Heating pads and Epsom Salt are my best friends. I really enjoy cooking. Even more so now. I can't taste the food but I get to be creative and make healthy dishes for my family. I start to run wild with cravings if I don't cook for awhile... strange I know. I know I will eat healthy after this looooong fast. I will also allow myself a naughty meal once in a while. Healthy can be savory. I love avocado... I've been craving it. Along with a few other things... well my twins are getting in to everything. Sorry for the blob of mixed thoughts. Maybe next time I'll make it pretty.. maybe. :)

This is a reply to # 2,219,121Hey, yes let's see if it works! I have just re-started my fast today since I broke it on Day 7. Today would have been my Day 8 but instead it's my new Day 1. It's a long story, so to speak. i was going through so much all at once and then my internet wasn't working on top of it and in the end I "took the day off." But today I am BACK ON TRACK and this time very hopeful that I'll stick it out. My goal this round is at least 14 days though I am eyeing 21... I am excited because I have decided this time around to do it the same way I did in the past in which I found success. So I know what is on my menu for the am as well as pm. And so no more experimenting around for me. I may not do a weight check-in for at least a few days, but that's another story! My hope is that this fast will bring me to my goal weight which is more or less 120-125, depending on how things look. From there of course my goal would be to MAINTAIN! Have you been into natural health for a while or is this new to you, may I ask? Hope things are going great for you. With love.

It takes a lot to even take that first step.I have done a few water/dry fast in the past and a few months ago I joined the gym with a personal trainer. After my training sessions I started falling off the wagon. I've always been the bigger girl but after having my twins... I just let go. Lol I've gone through periods of working out but I always begin to lack the motivation to continue. I have retained muscle-- especially in my legs. My boyfriend is skinny but has very high blood pressure and that's what started the healthy movement. Today is day 28 and I'm at 208.2lbs! Enjoying an Apple cranberry Celery juice this morning. I still crave food... this past Friday I got pizza for the family as a treat for being supportive. I cried. Like a spoiled little child for her bottle. I truly have leaned on food way too much. But! As much as it stung-- I drank my juice, put on a candle, and took an Epsom Salt bath. "NIKKIG NEVER GIVES UP, NIKKIG FINDS A WAY" ( Toy Story halloween special reference). I aslo bought myself a smaller shirt (sons of anarchy! ) and a smaller size pair of pajama pants. They are both hanging up to remind me why I'm doing this. As much as I want food-- I really wantt to wear my smaller outfit :) -- I wish all the best for you, I know u can do it :). Ttyl

This is a reply to # 2,219,753So I was going to wait before posting again but today is day 30! I made it a quarter of the way so far. I'm definitely proud of myself. I'm down to 206.2 today. Yesterday my body needed a rest so I dry fasted. It was much needed. I was up with energy unlike juicing. When juicing I'm ready for bed early (but I stay up to spend time with my other half). I just jammed to Pandora until a bit after midnight. It was an enjoyable way to end the day. Throat and nasal passage was really dry. I expected that. I will also do a few dry fast for deeper cleansing. I'd like to get rid of my asthma and a recent issue I've discovered. I believe I may have Candida or IBS. I've been feeling shaking in my lower right abdomen and its been getting more intense and happening very frequently. I took a laxative and.. well I looked up some Google pics. Just hoping whatever it may be, that it clears up. It has slowed down since the laxative. So woot woot. (Btw laxative tea is what I use. Goya to be exact. Lots of water to get it going but it goes.) Today I made my favorite avocado corn salsa for my man's pot luck at work... sad I can't eat any but I'll sooooo make it when I'm off the fast! Minus the oil. And wrap it up with a romaine lettuce leaf with cucumber and peppers and... mmmmm. Well, time for broccoli Orange juice. Just keep juicing!

This is a reply to # 2,220,170So... I've had headaches for the past two days. I can't wait to dry brush and take my Epsom Salt bath... might make a cup of tea. It's day 32 and I'm down to 204lbs...lots of progress but also I have quite a ways to go..the headaches make it seem worse than what it is but I'm hanging in there...kind words? Anyone? This is a reply to # 2,220,560Day 34. I'm down to 202.4lbs. I'm happy with my progress but I have a long way to go and some days are harder than others. Not sure what I'm going to do to celebrate getting under 20lbs. But I'll do something. Feeling a lack of support... Family trying to get me to eat. Teasing me with the idea of food. But I'm not going to fail this time. I'm not going to lie and say this is easy. It's F#$/*&@ hard! But I don't have time to fail again. I need to do this. The weird bumps/ Acne patch I had on my face is clearing up nicely. I started this, I'll finish it. I plan on being 199lbs by thanksgiving... take care.

This is a reply to # 2,220,970I don't think anyone is reading this... but someday my story may help some out. Today is day 35 and I'm down to 201.6lbs. I'm dry fasting for today and hopefully tomorrow. I forgot how difficult it can be. Last night I had nightmares. I laid down to rest my eyes (in the afternoon) and had a mini series of nightmares as well. I keep thinking "well maybe can have some of that new peach sleepy time tea I enjoyed so much yesterday"... my mind is trying to break me. I'd like to confirm that it is indeed a soft dry fast. I have to bathe my kids and such so contact with liquid is inevitable. The closer I get, the longer it feels. This is my penance. This is what I must endure. I'm not dying but it not "comfortable". I always hated getting out of my comfort zone. I need to get use to it. Had a headache again. I'm hoping the dry fasting cleans deeper and helps stop the headaches. Even while I'm juicing. I'm sensitive to stress I guess. I get headaches instantly that last all day. Ill feel a little better once we put up the Christmas tree and it feels warm and cozy. Hoping is one of the more relaxed months of this fast. I originally planned on 120 days of fasting. And I know I sound like I'm ready to give up but don't underestimate my determination. I now want to make sure--ABSOLUTELY SURE-- that I will be 109lbs by the end of this fast. So my new goal is 150 days. Following the break of my fast I will ease into insanity (the workouts lol!) And a full body workout every two days. I want to be fit/muscular (abs, butt, thighs. Arms just a bit not overdone). These are my goals and they are built one day at a time. I mentioned in yesterday's post that my face is clearing. I also had a scar from sitting on a flat iron (haha) that my friend had on the floor. Its significantly much much better. I thought it wouldbe there for life. That's pretty amazing to me. I have to go buy some avocados and stuff for a dish I'm making to contribute to thanksgiving (the world keeps on turning when fasting) but I also need something tasty to juice that day so I'm not whining like a baby. They all tell me "just a taste? Just a bite?" What don't you understand! Lol oh man. I think I'm hibernating for Christmas. I can barely stand people when I'm eating... imagine now.. I'm not mean just another introvert. I got the new smash brothers (yes I game at 23) so that should be cool. Just waiting till December to start playing. I also want to final fantasy and my monster hunter tri. The man and I have been playing L.A Noir when we put the kids to bed. It will be nice to dry brush and bathe soon. Keep on keeping on!

This is a reply to # 2,221,137Day 36! Start of week six and I'm 199.8lbs!! Under 200lbs. That's the lowest I've been in years. When I hit 180 lbs I'll be my pre pregnancy weight. Feels Good! Gotta hold on to the little victories before you get where you wanna be. 109lbs here I come.

Had melon juice with water this morning. Also went out and got some fresh produce. Day by day is the way. There's no way around it. Gotta keep pushing forward.

This is a reply to # 2,222,597Thank you very much. :) I transitioned into a 40 day wster fast. I'm on day 3... harder energy wise but I feel it is something I must do. I will then juice a few weeks and finish off with one last water fast. Hopefully then I will be 109. Not weighing in during this part of my journey although its tempting. It would do more harm. Some of my favorite quotes from you include there is no way around it, there is no turning back, and many more others. It can be really hard fasting so it is nice to see how life is like.
