Is it worth it to get HBV vaccine? I'm a male, had Hep C for 32 years, and am now on 8 weeks of Harvoni, which is over 95% likely to get rid of my Hep C.
My Gastro's nurse offered it to me, and recommends it, but I'm not sure if I'll get it or not. It wold be 3 hots spaced apart about 5 months. It seems to contain Formaldehyde.
Not sure if I want it or need it, I am not in any high risk group.
I asked this on an allopathic Hep C forum and of course they thought I should get it.

This is a reply to # 2,232,874They say you need Hep-B vaccine because your liver is comprimised with Hepc virus. And if you did contract HepB it would be serious.
I was offered the HepB vacine but chose not to. No real reason, just personal decision. Some folks feel that that would be just more pathogens in your body. But its your choice to discuss the pros and cons with your doctor.
My hepC load is dropping steadily with the natural remedies I am doing for a parasite infection.
I do coffee enemas, and Liver Flushes and take oil of oregano tabs. My hepc particles dropped from 6mil to 2mil in just one year. And all my liver enzymes are now in normal range.
Hopefully by next year It will be undetectable. Hepc is a quiet disease so no telling how long I had it. I did have surgery in the early 90s. So that;s a possibility.

I was taking a lot of oil of oregano for a while, then found out my VL had increased to 5.4 mil. the trouble with those therapies is that unless you keep it up long term, the Hep C will rebound and come back to multiply. You also need to follow up with blood work often to have any idea that you're in the right direction, and this is not possible or practical for me, which is why I chose 8 weeks of Harvoni when it was suggested. I have heard a lot of stories of people that supposedly cleared Hep C with umpteen different therapies but I have never been convinced that it's easy or even possible.
