Ever consider using DMPS + ALA? That seems to be Cutler's preferred way to get rid of Hg and As. It tends to be the best tolerated combo.

Cuter's view is that ALA still needs to be taken every 3 hrs. DMPS typically with every other dose of LA

Are you taking ALA with Amalgam fillings still in? I have read of many people having negative experiences taking chelators with amalgams, it is good to wait until they are out. Sorry if I misunderstood.

My perspective is a bit different: I used DMPS in pulse dosis and always ampullas (i.v. or injected under the skin) and DMSA capsules for frequent much lower doses. So I can't compare DMSA and DMPS as capsules.

I got DMPS i.v. for the first two years of my treatment and into the buccal mucosa (next to the jaw bones where I used to have Amalgam fillings) -- which at the beginning of that part of the treatment ended up INSIDE THE BONE because the bone structure was severely damaged. The bone healed with this treatment!!

I switched to Cutler and DMSA capsules and ALA after 2 years, but still took DMPS every few months (into the skin around the belly region, often I did it myself, I had and still have DMPS ampullas in the fridge). Each time I overdid it with DMSA and got problems like kidney region pain DMPS was the savior.

DMPS is my god, DMSA is just an angel (I'm not religious, just using well-established memes). As a German doctor said, DMPS is the excavator, DMSA is the shovel.

That said, I switched to DMSA for a reason: After the first two years there was no point in continuing with DMPS. The amount of metals available for chelation (outside cells) was so small it made very little difference if I took a large amount of chelators (pulse dosing - a lot of chelator but infrequently). On the other hand using a LITTLE bit of DMSA very frequently helped me much more.

But regardless of other people's experience, if you can DO give DMPS a try to see how it works for you. When you do that don't just look at the immediate effect, look at what happens in the 3-4 works after you took it (if you take a big dose).
