hi everybody ,I used to suffer from EC for more than 6 years .I'm now 25, and guess what my lips don't peel anymore.My entire lower lip and the middle part of upper lip used to peel off after every 1-2 days and the cycle used to continue.As far as I can remember when this thing started i used to put chapstik and balm and when it started to get worse over the years I used to apply more of it but it didn't cure my peeling.Drinking plenty amount of water also did not help me and neither alteration in my diet. For the last three weeks I have been consuming two things: 1)Dates(fruit)and 2)honey and a pinch of phitkari mixed in cold water.I have noticed a dramatic improvement in my lips. For the last two days it seems like the cycle has stopped and they are not peeling.Finally it is such a relief .Thanks to God.

This is a reply to # 2,254,331I don't think it's both methods healing your lips. It must be one or the other. For your own benefit, could you either remove dates and honey one week and phitkari (alum) another week?
You wrote that you only use a pinch of alum in cold water. I guess you're not getting sick since it's toxic if you ingest too much. However, it's supposed to purify dirty water along with detoxify the body.
Do you live in India where alum is readily available? Also, did you have a problem with constipation?

This is a reply to # 2,254,376I am advised to take the tiniest amount of phitkari not even a pinch.One day i tried to put a slighlty large amount and I just felt a kind of a jerk in many entire body especially in the head but i didn't get sick. Honestly speaking I didn't know what this thing was before u told me .My mother only told me that it purifies your stomach.
I take three dates and three almonds and the cold water- honey mixture, twice.First before consuming breakfast and then mostly at 7 pm before consuming dinner .
I don't live in India and neither do i suffer from constipation ,however I do suffer from a kind of temporary jaundice.I won't called it jaundice condition because I've been suffering from it since birth and i am completely normal except that my eyes get yellow sometimes.

This is a reply to # 2,254,564My guess is it might be the phitkari/alum helping your lips since it's supposed to help with detox. It's kind of contradictory since if you take too much, it's toxic. I say this because you experience jaundice, which is related to the liver. The phitkari may be helping to do work of detox that your liver is not doing.

This is a reply to # 2,254,588Jaundice is permanent but in my case its temporary that goes away with proper diet,fluid intake and less stress.I have a genetic defect which no one can understand .
I was born with normal lips and as far as I know my peeling started at the age of 17.According to my research I have found the association of date fruit with colon but haven't found any relationship between alum and colon/stomach.- Re: Exfoliative Chelitis Cured after... longterm

This is a reply to # 2,254,598I just read that dates are a good source of Vitamin A, C, E, K, B2, B6, niacin and thiamin. They are also a good source of mineral iron, potassium, selenium, magnesium, phosphorous and copper. It might be best to get vitamins from food instead of supplements. Well, I know it is. But, I didn't know what a good source dates were.
I'm really not sure which method is helping your lips. Could you eliminate one or the other for some time to see if your lips get worse?- Re: Exfoliative Chelitis Cured after... FootDoctor

A deficiency of B2, Riboflavin. Very common on a modern Western diet. Don’t be a vegetarian! Don’t drink any kind of soda, cola, fizzy pop drinks. Take 1 x B2 + 1x multi-B tablet for a week, then once a week thereafter.

Just describe the treatment you are trying and describe in adequate detail your progress.
