42 days on iodine, 1 week on 100 mgs and some changes
I'm taking all my supplements:
EmergenC packets
B12 liquid drops
Liquid multi
Vita D3 Magnesium Citrate
Magnesium Oil
Selenium
Some general notes on symptoms:
My appetite has returned and I seem to be appropriately hungry and or full, rather than feeling uncomfortably full even with a little bit of food. And it seems I'm very slowly but steadily increasing in energy level.
i'm getting red dots on my trunk and legs and I seem to have broken out on various places all over, more than before.
My period started with very mild cramps and almost snuck up on me. So, my PMS problems seem to be effectively resolved!
I've had a few nights where I couldn't go to sleep and very strange dreams.
No belching at all for days.
I've made some changes: From now on I'm taking 100 mgs 5 days/2 days without Iodine to give myself a rest and help my kidneys process all the toxins/iodine. I don't see any advice on whether taking 2 days off is recommended or not, but I know last week I took a few days off and I felt better. i'll take all my other supplements on my off cays.
I ordered some multi vitamin patches from Amazon. I plan to use them in conjunction with my other supplements to ensure that I get enough absorbed into my system.
I'm still a lot over the weight I was before I started Iodine. I'm not as worried about it because now that my appetite has returned I feel like my metabolism hasn't slowed down. But this continues to be an upsetting side effect of taking iodine.

This is a reply to # 2,266,223Great update. Skin eruptions are a good sign IMO, could be bromide or just other junk that is escaping. Days off to catch up is a good idea, also called pulse dosing.
For weight loss / increasing metabolism, try coconut oil. Appetite issues may be zinc deficiency.
Sleep: salt and potassium helped me loads! magnesium as well. Do not take vit B`s later than lunch time. In some people (like me) it may cause jitteriness, inability to sleep.

This is a reply to # 2,266,340Hi Gina. Thanks for the reply. Yeah. I think I'm going to get into the habit of taking all my sups, including Iodine in the AM.
The exception might be the magnesium oil which I use right before my shower at night. I'm not sure how the patch will affect me. it's time released and i'm supposed to wear a patch every day for 18 hours. i'm actually thinking the patch might be overkill. I guess we'll see next week.
I should talk about my neuropathy:
My neuropathic pain in my legs and feet have become less and less intense these past few weeks. But it had been headed in that direction anyway for a while before I started iodine.
I'm still having flare ups but they are also becoming less intense. I can't say the flare ups are due to Iodine either, since I had flare ups before Iodine and these days I've been pretty steady about the iodine dosage.
I'm inclined to think the less intense pain has more to do with my increased diligence with taking my multi and Bs in conjunction with iodine than iodine itself.
I'm also wondering if the magnesium might have been the missing ingredient in resolving my pain issues.
I expect my neuropathic pain will continue to fade over the coming weeks. I'm sure they
ll fade out faster than they would have, had I not starting the iodine supplementation.
